Jack Massa

Retired

Jack Massa, 71, passed away March 7 at his home. Funeral services were held March 10 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Tim Frank officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Howard Cemetery in White County. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderbilt University Transplant Center.

He was born Aug. 10, 1945 in White County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from UPS with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and volleyball. He participated in the Senior Olympics.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Grace and Elise Goodwin Massa; daughter Angela “Angie” Faye Massa.

Surviving relatives include his wife of 26 years, Melissa Massa; son, Jay Massa (fiancé Dondi Billings); daughter, Emma Grace Mass; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Sharon Mass of Cookeville; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Rick Cooper of Blacksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Andrew Harness (finace Tapanga Elrod), Megan Harness, and Tucker Jack Massa; nieces and nephews, Melinda and John Poteet, Doug Massa and Amanda Cooper, Kaitlea and Corey Masters, and brother-in-law, Brett Masters.

 

Kenneth Jackson

Sanitation Worker

Kenneth Jackson, 76, passed away March 10 at his residence. Funeral services were held March 11 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Hubert Jones officiating. Interment followed at Pyron Family Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 18, 1940 in Jackson County. He was a sanitation worker and a member of the Cubb Creek Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Carrie Jackson, one daughter, Paula Ann Jackson, three brothers, and four sisters.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Edna Pyron Jackson of Gainesboro; two sons, Mounce Jackson and Tim Jackson, both of Gainesboro; two grandsons, Travis and Tyler Jackson, both of Gainesboro; one sister, Thelma Pastel of Nashville.

 

William Loyd Walker

Factory Manager/U.S. Postal Service

William Loyd Walker, 86, passed away March 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held March 8 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Ronald Strong officiating. Interment followed at Richmond Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 26, 1930 in Jackson County. He was a furniture factory manager and with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mae Walker; one son, William Loyd Walker Jr.; one daughter, Sandra Scantland; three brothers, Kenneth, Harlin, and James Walker.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Lois Ragland Walker of Gainesboro; two sons, Danny (Stephanie) Strickland of Hartsville, and Loyd R. Walker of Gainesboro; two daughters, Teresa Craighead of Whitleyville and Linda Jackson of Gainesboro; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
