Alphonse Paciunas

Machinist

Alphonse Paciunas, 97, passed away March 29 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Memorial services to be held at a later date. The family has chosen cremation. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 24, 1919 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was a machinist in the tool and die industry. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Talisa Paciunas; his wife, Victoria Paciunas; one brother, Anthony Paciunas; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Allan (Michelle) Paciunas of Baxter, and James V. Paciunas of NJ; one sister, Anna Paciunas of NJ; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

 

Stella Louise Flatt

Garment Factory Worker

Stella Louise Flatt, 70, passed away April 3 at her residence. Funeral services were held April 7 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Don Bryant officiating. Interment followed at Flatt-Woolbright Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Oct. 25, 1946 in Jackson County. She was a garment factory worker and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Anna Mae Caruthers; two brothers, Jackie Caruthers and James Caruthers; one sister, Willa Dean Hammock.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Alfred C. Flatt of Gainesboro; two daughters, Tonya Michelle (Terry) McBride of Bloomington Springs, and Tina Ann (Kevin) Combs of Gainesboro; three grandchildren, Darin Minard, Torie McBride, and Pacey Combs; two brothers, Draper “Jack” Caruthers and Bobby Caruthers; three sisters, Grace Sloan, Minnie Lou Goolsby, and Mary Sue Flatt; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

 

Valmon Lambert Kirby

Garment Factory Worker

Valmon Lambert Kirby, 81, passed away April 4 at her residence. Funeral services were held April 6 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Don Bryant officiating. Interment followed at Fox Chaffin Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Jackson County. She was a garment factory worker. She was a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. She loved flowers, and loved to cook for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustis and Lillian Lambert; her husband, Bill Kirby; one daughter, Debbie Moss; three brothers, Elbert Lambert, Bernice Lambert, and Jonas E. Lambert; one granddaughter, Nicole Lee Mabery.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Lanny (Kay) Kirby of Gainesboro, and Kenny Kirby of Cookeville; three daughters, Donna (Dewey) Mabery and Renee (Donnie) Martin, all of Gainesboro, and Sherry (Keith) Thurman of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, LaDonna Burris, Jamie (Holly) Moss, Jeremy (Vanessa) Moss, Heath (Krista) Kirby, Torrey Kirby, Nathan Mabery, Dylan Thurman, and Ethan Kirby; three great grandchildren, Andrew Moss, Lennon Moss, and Alivia Moss; one brother, Billy Lambert of Gainesboro; one sister, Audra Young; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
