Mari Lynne “Murk” Westmoreland

Mari Lynne “Murk” Westmoreland, 69, of Celina passed away Jan. 11 at Cumberland River Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 14 from the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Threet and Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery.

Mari Lynne “Murk” Westmoreland was born July 17, 1942 in Henderson, TX. She was an apartment manager, homemaker and a member of the Beech Bethany Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, M.L. and Edna Clark Kinnebrew.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Bobby E. Westmoreland of Celina; children, Kenny and wife Cindy Westmoreland, Kevin and wife Sharon Westmoreland, Jeana and husband Rob Edwards and Robert and wife Brooke Westmoreland all of Celina; brother, Dr. Michael and wife Rebecca Kinnebrew of Wilmington, NC.; sister in law, Shirley Nelson of Alamo, CA.; grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob and Riley Edwards, Macy and John Westmoreland, Daniel and Sophia Westmoreland and Kyler Westmoreland; step grandchildren, Kyle Page and Chad Arms; nephews, Steve Nelson of Alamo, CA. and Scott Kinnebrew of Los Angeles, CA.; niece, Abbie Kinnebrew of Richmond, VA.; and special dog, Sammy.

Jackson T. Lusk


Jackson T. Lusk, 21, of West Chester, PA. passed away Jan. 16 in Eugene, OR. Funeral services were held Jan. 21 from the Chapel of DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd Funeral Home. Interment will be in a private service in South Carolina.

Jackson T. Lusk was born Sept. 25, 1990 in Columbia, SC. He was a 2009 graduate of Pennsbury High School and was a student at the University of Oregon Honors College.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.

Surviving relatives include: his parents, Patrick Lusk and Janietta Jackson Lusk; sister, Elizabeth Lusk of West Chester, PA.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Alice Jackson of Oak Grove; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in South Carolina and Tennessee.

Ronald Glenn “Goober” Rich

Ronald Glenn “Goober” Rich, 52, of Cookeville passed away Jan. 13 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 15 from the Chapel of Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Turkeytown Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Scot McLerran, Scott Scroepfer, Jarrod Goodwin, Scott Higbie, Jason Beaty and Jeremy Nash.

Ronald Glenn “Goober” Rich was born Jan. 22, 1959 in Jackson County. He was employed by Flexial Corp. and was affiliated with Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Rich.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Judy Roach Rich of Cookeville; mother, Dolly Rich of Celina; son, Michael Glen Rich of Cookeville; daughter, Misty Lynne Whited of Cookeville; brothers, Danny Frank Rich and Eddie Russell Rich both of Monroe; sisters, Connie Langford of Celina, Shelia Lee of McMinnville and Rhonda York of Antioch;  and grandchildren, Anthony Blake and Taylor Brooke Whited.

Joey Lee Smith


Joey Lee Smith, 69, of Celina passed away Jan. 12 at her residence. Funeral services were held Jan. 13 from the Chapel of Upton Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery.

Joey Lee Smith was born Jan. 5, 1943 in Celina. She was a retired factory worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Magadlene Collins Barlow.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Eugene Smith of Celina; son, Ronnie Smith; daughters, Sherry Monday of Celina and Buzzi Burnette of Livingston; brothers, James Barlow of Livingston and Charles Barlow of Celina; sisters, Diana West of Indianapolis, IN. and Bonnie Collins of Celina; and grandchildren, Jodi Reed, Eris Hughes, Celeste Smith, Allysa Smith, Rhonda Smith, Haley Ann Burnette and Zach Burnette.

Jerry E. Johnson

Factory Worker

Jerry E. Johnson, 63, of Willow Grove Community of Overton County passed away Jan. 16  at Cookeville Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 18 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Collins officiating. Interment followed in the Willow Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Tony Johnson, Josh Johnson, Tyler Collins, Gary Sidwell, James Sells and Jerry Daniels.

Honorary Pallbearers included: E.C. Reagan, Vic Wilborn and Joe Lee Thrasher.

Jerry E. Johnson was born Feb. 16, 1948 in Clay County. He was a factory worker at Berkline Corp. and a member of the Willow Grove Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Johnson, sister, Jackie Newby; father in law, Curtis Taylor; and sister in law, Leda Taylor Cox.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Betty Rose Johnson of Willow Grove; mother, Cleo Johnson of Willow Grove; son, Eddie and wife Kristy Johnson of Cookeville; daughter, Billie and husband Kevin Strong of Rickman; granddaughter, Elyza Strong; sisters, Judy and husband Johnny Kirkpatrick of Allons and Jan and husband Richard McReynolds of Algood; brothers in law and sisters in law, Rita Colson of Willow Grove, Ken Newby of Algood, David Cox of Monroe and Wayne and Debbie Taylor of Willow Grove; and special niece and nephew, Kayleigh and Curt Cox.

James Dale Sanders


James Dale Sanders, 77, of Red Boiling Springs and formerly of Illinois passed away Jan. 15 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date. Anderson and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

James Dale Sanders was born April 7, 1934 in Richland, IL. He was a former supervisor for B&L Railroad in Baltimore, MD. with 20 years of service and a United States Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Luther and Mary Elizabeth Hurst Sanders; son, Timothy Sanders; two sisters; and three brothers.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Tami Martin of Pinellas Park, FL., Jamie Sanders of Seffner, FL., and Tina Erwin of Tampa, FL.; devoted companion, Patricia Evans of Red Boiling Springs; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
