Jerry White, 70, of Jackson County passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center Jan. 3. Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Interment followed in the White Cemetery in Overton County.
Pallbearers were Dan Kowalski, Harold Burris, Bobby Scantland, Marty Scantland, Dennis Rawley, Danny White and Charles Carter.
Jerry White was born Jan. 4, 1941 in Overton Co. to the late Edgar and Lela (Norris) White. He served in the U.S. Army and was a factory worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles White, Roy White, Tommy White, Troy White, E.B. White and James White; and sister, Mary White.
Survivors include: his wife, Reita White of Jackson County; daughter, Christy Kowalski and husband Dan of Cookeville; sister, Clara Jean Reid of Stanton, VA; brother, Billy Joe White of Barber, OH; grandson, Payton Kowalski; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friend.
Jerry E. Johnson
Jerry E. Johnson, 63, of Willow Grove passed away on Jan. 16 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital. Funeral Services were held on Jan. 18 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Collins officiating. Interment followed at the Willow Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Johnson, Josh Johnson, Tyler Collins, Gary Sidwell, James Sells and Jerry Daniels. Honorary pallbearers were E.C. Reagan, Vic Wilborn and Joe Lee Thrasher.
Jerry E. Johnson was born on Feb. 16, 1948 in Clay County. He was a factory worker for Berkline Corp. and a member of Willow Grove Church of Christ in Allons.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Thomas Edward Johnson; sister, Jackie Newby; father-in-law, Curtis Taylor; and sister-in-law, Leda Taylor Cox.
Surviving relatives include mother, Cleo Johnson of the Willow Grove Community; wife, Betty Rose Johnson of the Willow Grove Community; son, Eddie Johnson and wife Kristy of Cookeville; daughter, Billie Strong and husband Kevin of Rickman; granddaughter, Elyza Strong; sisters, Judy Kirkpatrick and husband Johnny of Allons and Jan McReynolds and husband Richard of Algood; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rita Colson of the Willow Grove Community, Ken Newby of Algood, David Cox of Monroe, and Wayne and Debbie Taylor of the Willow Grove Community; special niece and nephew, Kayleigh and Curt Cox.
Joana Norrod, 64, of Monterey passed away on Jan. 18 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Jan. 21 at the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Norrod officiating. Interment followed at the Welch Memorial Cemetery.
Joana Norrod was born on July 13, 1947 in Twinton. She was a seamstress in the garment industry, a homemaker and Baptist in faith.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Jack and Rosie Vaughn Threet.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Larry Norrod of Monterey; daughter, Tammie Gallagher and husband Mike of Monterey; granddaughter, Janna Catherine Gallagher and husband J.C. of Monterey, expecting great granddaughter Kylie Rae; and sister, Carolyn Scarlett and husband Jr. of Cookeville.
Joelene Clark Vaughn
Joelene Clark Vaughn, 78, of Monterey passed away Jan. 21 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at The Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Tracy Langford officiating. Interment followed at The Shady Grove Cemetery.
Joelene Clark Vaughn was born on April 17, 1922 in Overton County. She was a homemaker and a member of The Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Minnie Peek Copeland; husbands, Charlie Clark and Ralph Vaughn; sisters, Jessie Copeland, Gladys Hammock, Syble Peek and Beulah Presley; and brother, Turley Mitchell Copeland.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Diana Jewel of Miamisburg, OH; sons, Danny Copeland and wife Sandy of Albany, KY, Woodrow Clark of Middletown, OH and Barger Clark and Diana of Monterey; grandchildren, Debbie Copeland, Joey Copeland, Matthew Jewel, Amy Reason, Mary Jewel, Gwen Lucio, Katrina Clark and Ryan Clark; and six great-grandchildren.

The prayers, food, flowers, visits and everything that was done for us will always be remembered. Everyone was so thoughtful and supportive. We would like to say a special thank you to the Clay County EMS and Clay County Sheriff’s Department for everything they did along with their kind words.
