Michael Anthony Allen, 67, of California passed away on April 1 at his home. Funeral services were held on April 4 at Hatcher Hall Christian Church in Taylor’s Crossroads. The family has chosen cremation.

Michael Anthony Allen was born on May 8, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy and sailed Merchant Marine. He went on to work in the oil industry for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by: his parents Charles N. and Eleanor E. Allen.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Carla M. Allen; son, Michael Allen and his wife Paige; daughter, Natashia Allen; grandchildren, Trevor, Olivia, Blake, Alana and Abbi, all of Louisiana; brother, Neil Allen and family of California; sisters, Sue Rosburg and husband John and Charlene Adams all of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

M.G. Presley

Logger

M.G. Presley, 78, of Monterey passed away on April 5 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on April 7 at The Stamps Cemetery in Monterey with Rev. Kevin Phillips officiating.

M.G. Presley was born on Oct. 18, 1933 in Overton County. He was a logger and Freewill Baptist in faith.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, George and Rosie Harris Presley, son, Michael Presley; and great-grandchild, Macie Lynn Presley.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lou Esther Harris Presley of Monterey; daughter, Wanda Lane and husband Mitch of Monterey; sons, Benny Presley and wife Vicky of Monterey, Kenneth Presley of Muddy Pond and Charles Presley and wife Sandra of North Carolina; sisters, Dora Staggs of Rickman and Ola Phillips of Coldwater, MI; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The Family of Jimmie Mae Linder would like to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness during the sickness and loss of our mother. Thanks for your prayers, the food, flowers, visits and kind comforting words. A special thanks to: the Overton County Nursing Home and the doctors and nurses and CNA’s who have taken such great care of our mom for the past several months. Also, a special thanks to Hospice for their support to us and for helping make our mom’s last days as comfortable as possible. We feel blessed to have such great family and friends.
