Billy Gray Nichols

Billy Gray Nichols, 63, of Celina passed away April 20 at his residence. Funeral services were held April 22 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Winchester officiating. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included: The Canton Lodge #481.

Honorary pallbearers included: the Clay County Rescue Squad.

Billy Gray Nichols was born May 3, 1948 in Celina. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Canton Lodge #481.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Nichols; and daughter, Tina Jolin.

Surviving relatives include: mother, Wealthia “Dude” Waddell of Celina; son, William Sam and wife Lori Nichols of Celina; daughter, Annette Williams of Chattanooga; son-in-law, Rodney Jolin of Moss; and grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Nichols; Jacqulyn and Joesph Jolin and Christian Williams.

Eunice Irene Watson

Retired

Eunice Irene Watson, 84, of Moss passed away April 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held April 22 from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Dale Strong officiating. Interment followed in the Jonestown Cemetery.

Active pallbearers included: Joe McLerran, Clint Birdwell, Johnathan Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Chance Asberry, Jordon Collins and David Marshall.

Honorary pallbearers included: H.G. Asberry, Greg Collins, Jeff Collins, Randall Walker and David Thompson.

Eunice Irene Watson was born July 5, 1927 in Clay County. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Pine Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mount Vernon and Laura Bell Crabtree Denton; husband, Carlos Ralph Likens; grandson, James Kelly Asberry; brothers, Normal Edwin, Albert, Estil Frances, Theron Preacher Denton and Edgar Paul Tidwell; and sisters, Zura Avria Denton Jones, Anna E. Denton McAlpin, Zona Bea Denton McAlpin and Verlie and Ruby Tidwell.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Brenda and husband David Stafford of Hermitage Springs and Phyllis Collins of Moss; brother, Louis Denton of Moss; son-in-law, H.G. Asberry of Oak Grove; step children, Michael Watson, Verneal Warden and Sue Huff; grandchildren, Jeff and wife Pat Asberry, Debbie and husband Randall Walker, Angie and husband David Thompson and Greg and wife Kristen Collins; 23 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and special friend, Christine Brady.

Joe Herbert Stephens, Jr.

Field Representative

Joe Herbert Stephens, Jr., 40, of Murfreesboro passed away April 22 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services were held April 26 from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Randy Stephens officiating. Interment followed in the Williams Cemetery.

Pallbearers included: Geoff Haussin, David Brown, Mark McConnell, Randy Naron, Mickey McGrath, Bryant Thompson, Brad Stafford and Bill Lowman.

Joe Herbert Stephens, Jr. was born March 30, 1972 in Celina. He was a field representative for State Farm Insurance and was a member of the Rock Springs Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Herbert Stephens, Sr.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Elizabeth Pansa Stephens of Murfreesboro; mother, Nelda Francis Maines Stephens of Pea Ridge; sister, Tina Michelle Stephens of Indianapolis, IN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeffrey and Dana Pansa of Franklin; sister-in-law, Rachel Torres of Nashville; and grandmother-in-law, Mildred Ferritto of Cleveland, OH.
