Mattie Grace Gentry

Retired Seamstress

Mattie Grace Gentry, 86, of Gainesboro passed away on May 5 at Bethesda Health Care Center.  Funeral services were held on May 10 at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Dow Allen officiating. Interment followed in the Double Springs Cemetery.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mattie Grace Gentry was born March 31, 1926 in Putnam County. She was a retired seamstress with Ford Motor Company and a member of the Post Oak Shade Free Will Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Herman and Fannie Bell Brown Rippetoe; husband, Cherlie C. Gentry; sisters, Rosa Jaquess and Lucy Snow; brothers, George Garrison, Harvey Garrison, Willard Garrison and Walter Rippetoe.

Surviving relatives include: her daughter, Penny and husband John Goff of Trenton, MI; sons, Terry Million of Gainbesboro and Larry and wife Peggy Balowski of Rochester Hills, MI; grandchildren, Rachel, April, Shawn, Nathaniel and Kristy; and several great grandchildren.

Jack Lee Meadows

Retired Principal

Jack Lee Meadows, 71, of Gainesboro passed away on May 7 at his home. Funeral services were held on May 10 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Leftwich and Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Draper Memorial Cemetery.

Jack Lee Meadows was born Sept. 27, 1940 in Jackson County. He was a member of the Flynns Creek Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, J.D. and Willie Mae Long Meadows.

Surviving relatives included: sons, Jackie and wife Pam Meadows of Gainesboro and Jim and Sandy Meadows of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Danielle Meadows, Kaitlyn Meadows, Jordan Meadows, Jacob Meadows and Jed Meadows; and other relatives and friends.

 Tommy Edward Mansell

Tommy Edward Mansell, 50, of Jackson County passed away on May 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on May 10 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Alan Judd officiating. Interment followed in the Mansell Cemetery.

Tommy Edward Mansell was born Dec. 15, 1961 in Jackson County. He was a factory worker at Dacco.

He is preceded in death by: his father, Palo Mansell; paternal grandparents, Houston and Ava Ballard Mansell; and maternal grandparents, Herod and Flossie B. Stafford Loftis.

Surviving relatives include: his mother, Lucille Mansell of Cookeville; son, Derek Mansell of Gainesboro; niece, Kayla Paige Allen of Cookeville; nephews, Chase Madison Bunch and Jaden Gentry both of Cookeville; sisters, Annette Barham of Gainesboro and Pamela Johnson of Cookeville; and uncles, aunts and other family members.
