Edward B. Richardson

Truck Driver

Edward B. Richardson, 69, passed away on May 12 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. A private service will be held at a later date. Richardson chose cremation. His ashes are to be spread by his children along with his wife Margaret’s ashes in Standing Stone.

Edward B. Richardson was born June 25, 1942 in Livingston. He was a retired Alcoa worker, worked at Electronic Research as a truck driver, did road construction for Denton and owned and operated Rapco Home Foamers of Newburgh. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed restoring muscle cars, Nascar racing, playing poker and meeting with retired friends for breakfast.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Margret Richardson; brothers, Willie Richardson, Esco Richardson and Willard Richardson; sisters, Barbra Mercer and Wanda Kennedy.

Surviving relatives include: his children, Tony and wife Sherrie Richardson, Tammie and husband Greg Richardson and Toby Richardson; grandchildren, Monica Richardson, Blake and wife Dava Ward, Trent Davidson and A.J. Richardson; great grandchildren, Erin Ward and Jaxon Ward; sister-in-law, Betty Paul of Cookeville; brother-in-law, Jim Kennedy of Overton County; and nieces and nephews.

Lula Matthews

Lula Matthews, 87, of Crawford passed away on May 15 at her home. Funeral services were held on May 18 at the Lake View Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Phillips officiating. Interment followed in the George M. Phillips Cemetery.

Lula Matthews was born on Sept. 9, 1924 in Overton County. She was a homemaker and attended Lakeview Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Hulie and Nancy Bowman Vaughn; husband, William “Bud” Matthews; sister, Anna Vaughn; brothers, Herman Vaughn and Kenneth Vaughn; and two infant brothers.

Surviving relatives include: her daughters, Phyllis and Harold Miller of Hanging Limb and Sherry and Mike Tabors of Monterey; sons, Ronnie and Phyllis Matthews of Crawford, Donnie and Donna Matthews of Mt.  Juliet and Johnnie and Diana Matthews of Monterey; sisters, Beatrice and Doyle Looper of Monterey and Lillian Hargis of Battle Creek, MI; and 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Edith Gay Claborn Cope

Edith Gay Claborn Cope, 80, passed away on May 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held on May 16 at the Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Cross officiating. Interment followed in the Amonett Cemetery.

Pallbearers : Jason Cope, D.J. Massengille, Donny Reeder, Derick Beasley, David Wilson and Brett Allen.

She was born Aug. 31, 1931 in Huntersville, KY. She was homemaker and baptized at the of Red Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Russell and Minnie Claborn; son, Lester Cope; grandson, Jamie Allen Cope; brothers, George, Robert, Thurman, A.B. and Mackie Claborn of Livingston.

Surviving relatives included: her husband, Howard Cope of Livingston; daughters, Wilma and husband Ray Rockwell of Livingston, Carol Ray of Fisher, IN and Kathy and husband Mark Neal of Livingston; son, Johnny and wife Marcia Cope of Hilham; sisters, Lena Mae Gilliand of Algood, Linda Cisco of Cookeville, Edna Cope of Ohio and Daisy and husband Jerry Johnson of Ohio; brothers, R. L. Claborn of Kentucky and Randy Claborn of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; Steven Ray; and nieces, nephews and other family members.

Julienne Lynn

Julienne Lynn, 88, of Tullahoma passed away on May 13 at Harton Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on May 15 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Green officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Larry Hunter, Johnathan Hunter, Wesley Parr, Dustin Lynn and Jack Lynn.

She was born July 28, 1923 in Overton County. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilham United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Harold and Beulah Murphy Copeland; husband, Cecil E. Lynn; son, Richard Lynn; and grandson, Michael Lynn.

Surviving relatives include: her son, Jack and wife Marla Lynn of Tullahoma; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lynn of Florida; grandchildren, Chris Parr of Missouri, Jeff Lynn of California and Dustin Lynn of Tullahoma; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and niece, Ruth Hunter. 

Floyd Dale Cook

Floyd Dale Cook, 53, of Livingston passed away on May 15 at his home. No services have been made at this time.

Floyd Dale Cook was born on Sept. 6, 1958 in Mullins, WV. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Frank and Margaret Collins Cook.

Surviving relatives include: his brother, Lindon Cook of Livingston; and sister, Patricia Holbrook of Westland, MI.

Dennis Glenn Brown

Dennis Glenn Brown, 61, of Livingston passed away on May 15 at his home. Funeral services were held on May 19 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Celebrant J. David Parsons officiating. Interment followed in the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.

He was born Jan. 28, 1951 in Akron, OH. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, David Rufurd and Frances Nell Winningham Brown; and wife, Wilma Joan Brown.

Surviving relatives include: his son, Christian Brown of Rickman; daughters, Rochelle Ransome of California and Tonya Brown of Virginia; step-daughter, Amanda Taylor of Rickman; and brothers, Davey Brown of Ohio and Ricky Brown of Ohio; grandsons, Darian, Nicholas and Nathan; granddaughters, Bianca and Jade Ransome and Emily and Evelyn Taylor.

Clyde A. Cobble

Clyde A. Cobble, 62, of Rickman passed away on May 16 at Masters Healthcare. Funeral services were held on May 19 at Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Boles officiating. Interment followed in the Netherland Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Levi Cobble, Ray Cobble, Mike Fletcher, Jason Fletcher, Johnny Cobble and Nathan Cobble.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1949 in Putnam County.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, J.B. and Maggie (Bowman) Cobble; sister, Janie Dixon; and brother, John Cobble and wife Gene Cobble.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Sandra Cobble; sons, Wayne and wife Lisa Cobble and Jimmy and wife Parris Cobble; sisters, Mary Fletcher, Juanita Fletcher, Judy Hotspintiller and Jennie Breeding; brothers, Roy Cobble and Jack Cobble; grandchildren, Alicia Kelly, Levi Cobble, Ray Cobble, Ashley Cobble and Cindy Cobble.
