Burnes B. “Buck” Carr
Burnes B. “Buck” Carr, 71, of Livingston passed away July 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Memorial services were held July 13 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Fossey officiating. Interment followed in the Ruth Chapel Cemetery.
Burnes B. “Buck” Carr was born Nov. 10, 1940 in Overton County. He was a cross-country truck driver, a member of Ruth Chapel Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen and Salome Greenwood Carr; sister, Hazel Carr; and brothers, J.C., R.C., Hillary and Clay Carr.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Judy Carr of Livingston; sons, Robert Allen and wife Joy Carr of Indianapolis, IN, James Lee and wife Karen Carr of Middletown, IN and Larry Scott and wife Ruby Carr of Acton, IN; daughters, Penny Jarrett of Anderson, IN, Leslie Mizer of Tipp City, IN and Tracy Carr of Livingston; brothers, Fred Carr of Livingston and Thurman and wife Rita Carr of LaGrange, IN; sister, Lela and husband Edward Stout of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Mary Choate, 80, of Cookeville passed away July 8 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 10 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment followed in the Bolestown Cemetery in Pickett County.
Mary Choate was born June 7, 1932 in Moodyville Community of Pickett County. She was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paris Denton and Hessie Davidson Manis; husband, Ransom Ira Choate; sister, Judy Williams; and brothers, Willie Manis and Jay Manis.
Surviving relatives include her son, Gary and wife Sandy Choate of Tucker, GA; granddaughter, Stephanie Choate of Athens, GA; and sister, Stella West of Mt. Juliet.
Ruth Copeland, 83, of Haines City, FL passed away July 9 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL. Graveside services were held July 13 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City with Dr. David Myers and Reverend Harold Butler officiating.
Ruth Copeland was born Feb. 8, 1929 in Livingston. She moved with her family to Orlando, FL in 1957. She was a homemaker and worked at the Haines City Orange Ring and the Haines City Cleaners.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Finley and Josie Maynard; and husband, Doy Copeland.
Surviving relatives include her son, Larry Copeland of Orlando; daughter, Carolyn Shock of Haines City; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one nephew; and four nieces.
Ruth Evelyn Cyrus
Ruth Evelyn Cyrus, 84, of Livingston passed away July 10 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 12 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Wright and Bro. Tim Buford officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were: Jacob Cyrus, Johnny Ray Cyrus, Brandon Melton, Landon Melton, Brian Melton and SSG Ronnie Paul Cyrus.
Ruth Evelyn Cyrus was born Dec. 12, 1927 in Overton County. She was a member of the Millers Chapel Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vollie and Mary Holt Sells.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Joan Melton and husband Larry of Allons and Yvonne Pennington and husband Bob of Celina; sons, Johnny Cyrus and wife Bettye Ann of Monroe and Ron Cyrus and wife Brenda of Monroe; brother, George Sells of Monroe; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
Bill Mace, 72, of Hilham passed away July 12 at his home. Funeral services were held July 14 at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Chaplain J.C. Allen officiating. Interment followed in the Maxwell Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Michael Mace, Justin McGarvey, Scott Hamilton, Brian Seveir, Leroy Moore and Joe Lee.
Bill Mace was born May 3, 1940 in Clay County. He was a Baptist in faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlin and Della Hammock Mace; brothers, Ray, Roy, Lonnie and Junior Mace; sisters, Bonnie Mace and Thelma Jean Mace.
Surviving relatives include his stepsons, Leroy Moore of Hilham; special nieces, Heaven Franklin, Margie Sevier and Teresa Meadows; special nephew, Eaven McGarvey; sisters, Ruth Dillon, Thelma Cox and Linda Sevier all of Hilham, Jean Sevier and Norma Hamilton of Lebanon; special aunt, Ova Barlow of Hilham.
Paul Edward Reagan
Paul Edward Reagan, 77, of Livingston passed away July 10 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 12 at the First Baptist Church in Livingston with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Jonathan Reagan, Matthew Reagan, Brandon Reagan, Tom Covington, Kevin Turk, Dennis Barsness and Doug Reagan.
Paul Edward Reagan was born Oct. 13, 1934 in Clay County. He was retired from UCEMC after 26 years, a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Livingston and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ora Collins Reagan; brother, Thomas Reagan.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Robbie Reagan of Livingston; sons, Rickey and Lisa Reagan of Knoxville and Shawn and Lisa Reagan of Huntsville, AL; brothers, Champ Reagan of Livingston and Jack and Christine Reagan of Allons; sisters, Wanell and Earl Key of Nashville and Anna Lee Fike of Bradford, OH; and six grandchildren.
Paul Evin Sidwell
Paul Evin Sidwell, 44, of Livingston passed away July 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 15 at the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Sells Cemetery in Monroe.
Pallbearers were: Gary Coffman, Roger Masters, Jeremy Reece, Travis Pryor, Jason Abston and Joseph Melton.
Paul Evin Sidwell was born Oct. 30, 1967.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Edward and Rosa Lee (Sells) Sidwell.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Monica Sidwell of Livingston; sons, Joshua Bowman of Livingston and Jonathan Gager of Monroe; sisters, Tammy Daniel of Nashville and Anna May Reese of Allons; three grandchildren; nieces, Jessica Daniels of Livingston, Tiffany Moscoso, Tabatha Sidwell and Chelsea Reese all of Allons; and nephew, Casey Daniels of Nashville.
