Joyce A. Adkins
Joyce A. Adkins, 62, of Livingston passed away July 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 24 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd and Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jimmy McCoy, Jordan McCoy, John Phillips, Shane Brooks, Nicholas Gruel and Nicholas McElhaney.
Joyce A. Adkins was born Oct. 12, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. She was a homemaker and grandmother to 11 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl R. and Jalah Hornsby; sister, Jean Thompson; and two brothers.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Asa Adkins of Livingston; sons, James and wife Debrah McCoy of Livingston, Paul and wife Tammy Adkins of Gainesboro and Austin Adkins of Livingston; daughters, Diana and husband Roger Hunter of Cookeville, Jacquelyn and husband Randall McElhaney of Cookeville and Angela and husband Brandon Skiles of Livingston; grandchildren, James McCoy, Rachel McCoy, Jordan McCoy, Ashley Adkins, Leah McElhaney, Addison McElhaney, Nicholas McElhaney, John Phillips, Michael Brooks, Joshua Brooks and Elizabeth Webb; and sisters, Earline Waldron of Columbus, OH and Carol Riddle of Columbus, OH.
Jerry K. Bilbrey
Jerry K. Bilbrey, 66, of Rickman passed away July 22 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Funeral services were held July 26 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Interment followed in Oakley Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Darrell, David, Larry and John Bilbrey, Tim and Jason Oakley, Glenn Kirksey and Aaron Neal.
Honorary pallbearers were: Wayne and Charles Peck, Gary Hargis, M.J. Harris, Ricky Ledbetter, Tom Montooth and Michael Looper.
Jerry K. Bilbrey was born Aug. 31, 1945 in Overton County. He was a logger and a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Reba Deck Bilbrey; brothers, Clauis and Clifford Bilbrey; and sister, Mildred Bilbrey.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Bilbrey of Rickman; son, Anthony Bilbrey of Rickman; daughter, Angie Akers of Rickman; brothers, Eugene Bilbrey of Monroe and Floyd and wife Nella Rae Bilbrey of Crossville; sisters, Lucille and husband R.V. Ervin of Maryville, Juanita and husband David Kirksey of Madisonville, Nina and Don Oakley of Monroe and Irene Neal of Englewood; and grandson, Cody Akers.
Frances Emmagene Garrett
Frances Emmagene Garrett, 67, passed away July 22 in Algood with her sons by her side. Funeral services were held July 26 at Speck Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Monroe.
Frances Emmagene was born June 22, 1945 in Detroit, MI to the late Garland and Emmagene Garrett. She was a lifelong Christian and loving mother. She was also an avid writer and photographer who enjoyed music, travel and nature.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew and Johnathan Stover; brothers, Elmo and Joe Garrett; sisters, Patty Spohnholtz and Linda Hicks; and granddaughter, Kelsey Myers.
Lexie D. Jones
Lexie D. Jones, 82, of Allons passed away July 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held July 29 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Maynord officiating. Interment followed in Fellowship Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Phillip Wilson, Caleb Wilson, Dwain Maynord, Jimmy Maynord, Rick Maynord and Bruce Seber.
Lexie D. Jones was born Jan. 25, 1930 in Allons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vanus and Gracie Reeder Maynord; husband, Aaron Jones; and brothers, Dennis, Doward, Don and Robert Maynord.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Malinda Keisling and husband Keith of Brentwood and Rita Ledbetter and husband Jimmy of Livingston; sisters, Adarene Lane of Indian Harbor Beach, FL and Naeomia Stafford of Allons; brother, Harold Maynord of Hilham; granddaughters, Melissa Mick of Rickman, Jennifer Ledbetter of Algood and Megan Keisling of Brentwood; and great grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner and Alexis Mick.
Deborah Charlene Cox
Deborah Charlene Cox, 55, of Sparta passed away July 27 at Highlands Medical Center. Memorial services were held July 30 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Rogers officiating. The family chose cremation.
Deborah Charlene Cox was born Nov. 26, 1956 in Overton County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Haley and Bertha D. (Greenwood) Stewart.
Surviving relatives include her husband, James Cox of Sparta; daughter, Rebecca Hawkins of Livingston; two stepdaughters, Angela Colwell of Gallatin and Diane Jamison of Nashville; son, James Keith Cox of Jamestown; sisters, Brenda Greenwood of Rickman, Charlotte Laycock of Livingston and Sue Ann Stewart of Sparta; brothers, James Stewart, Fowler Stewart and Paul Stewart all of Livingston; and 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
