Clarence Eugene “Gene” Johnson, 74, of Gainesboro passed away July 23 at his home. Funeral services were held July 25 at the Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Huffines officiating. Interment followed in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.
Clarence Eugene “Gene” Johnson was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Jackson County and was a retired business owner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Johnson and Annie Huff Johnson; brothers, Comer Johnson and an infant brother; and daughter, Roxanne Johnson.
Surviving relatives include his son, Steve and wife Chevelle Johnson of Gainesboro; brother, Joe and wife Katherine Johnson of Gainesboro; sisters, Nell and husband George Williams of Gallatin and Martha and husband Richard Mansell of Virginia; sister-in-law, Virginia Phillips of Jackson County; grandchildren, Jeret Goad, Lindsey Goad and Dallas Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mitzi Bodin, 49, of Antioch, Davidson County passed away July 16 at her Preserve Boulevard home. Graveside services were conducted on July 20 at Sanderson Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Burton officiating. Interment followed in the Witcher Cemetery in Jackson County.
Mitzi Bodin was born Oct. 3 1962 in Carthage. She was a 1980 graduate of Jackson County High School and a longtime accountant for State of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Wayne Lynch.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Michael Carl Bodin of Davidson; mother, Shirley Jean Witcher Lynch, of the Baghdad Community; daughter, Jessica Sanders of Pensacola, FL; son, Joshua Sanders of Nashville; sister, Lisa Wallace of Milton, FL; and five grandchildren.
