A Tribute to Connie
Connie June King Strong was born March 21, 1951 in the Oak Grove Community to Edyth King Copass. Connie was raised by a single parent along with the help of loving grandparents Bedford and Lillie King, uncles and aunts Joe, John, Elaine and Mary Ann then along came Madelle, Sid and Charles. They all gave her so much love.
Connie attended grade school at Oak Grove then Hermitage Springs High School. Uncle Joe or some of the others took her when she needed to go for school activities. After graduation, she took off to Nashville to attend beauty school and she stayed at the Church of Christ girls home until she graduated.
Then along came Robert the love of her life and took her away to Lebanon, TN where they both worked. Later Robert Jr. came along what a JOY! She got to see him go to grade school and high school in Lebanon and then on to M.T.S.U. where he graduated and worked in several counties before going to get his masters and doctors degree. Connie was so proud of him.
After she was laid off from work, she went back to school received her business degree and worked as a bookkeeper until this dreadful disease M.S. hit her where she could no longer work.
This little girl from Oak Grove accomplished so much in life with the help of her husband Robert and a wonderful son. She had lots of love. She was taken from us too soon, but she will not have the pain and suffering anymore.
Connie was returned to the Oak Grove Community on Dec. 9 at the Clementsville Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside Uncle Joe and Granny and Grandpa King.
Connie, we all love you. You will be in our hearts forever.
Elaine and Mary Ann
