Gene Arvle Pryor, 66, passed away Dec. 3 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating.
Gene Arvle Pryor was born Feb. 12, 1946 in Jackson County. He was a disabled mineworker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Arvle Pryor and Delsie Reeder Pryor; son Barry Gene Pryor; and a niece Sharon Lynn Pryor.
Surviving relatives include daughter Amy Pryor and her fiancé Erik Baxter; grandchildren Devon Pryor, Samantha Pryor and Brianna Minchy; sister Myrtie and husband Donald Gentry; brothers Ray and wife Jerri Pryor and Encil and wife Deborah Pryor; uncles Odell Reeder and Harse Pryor; aunt Darlene Somers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tennie Lorene Norton Hunter
Tennie Lorene Norton Hunter, 94, passed away Dec. 8 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. Funeral services were held Dec. 11 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Teresa Dennis and Bro. Larry Rhoten officiating. Interment followed at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
Tennie Lorene Norton Hunter was born April 24, 1918 in Jackson County. She was a sales clerk and a member of the Burristown Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas H. Norton and Maidy Hestand Norton; husband Aaron C. Hunter; brother Charlie Cowan Norton; sisters Mildred Barlow, Martha Swan, Gladys Meadows and Dimple Whetstone; and grandchildren Patricia Hunter Chaffin and Timothy Dale Hunter.
Surviving relatives include son Bobby D. and wife Daisy Hunter; daughters Faye and husband Roy Ragland and Ann and husband Al Wright; grandchildren Teresa, Tony, Tammie, Tina, Penny, Janie, Cyndi and Pamela; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Carl M. Fox Jr.
Carl M. Fox Jr. passed away Dec. 8 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Dec. 11 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Jason Barlow officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery.
Carl M. Fox Jr. was born July 28, 1970 in Smith County. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Fox and Thelma Lucille Fox; sister Betty Ann Christian; brothers-in-law Anthony Bruce Barlow and Billy Christian; and mother-in-law Reba Jean Gore Barlow.
Surviving relatives include wife Denise Fox; brothers Albert Lee and wife Miranda Fox and Jacky and wife Pamela Fox; sister Sallie and husband Bill Seeback; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jane Elizabeth Cooper
Jane Elizabeth Cooper, 93, passed away Dec. 11, peacefully at her residence. Jackson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jane Elizabeth Cooper was born March 28, 1919 in California. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Georgia (Pierce) and Frank Trimble.
Surviving relatives include daughters Jayne Williams and Gean A. Cooper; sons Lloyd G. Cooper and Ray G. Cooper; and grandchildren Chelsie Merritt, Heather Merritt and Nicholas Merritt.
