Reba June Dennis

Reba June Dennis, 73 of the Rickman community in Overton County passed away Feb. 2 at her home. Funeral services were held Feb. 4 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Jerry Blair officiating. Interment followed in the Bear Creek Cemetery in Putnam County.

Reba June Dennis was born June 12, 1939, in Celina.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paskel and Maxine Williams Maynord.

Surviving relatives include her daughters Vivian Ward and husband Jerry, Elizabeth Dennis and Amy Roberts, all of Cookeville; sisters Flo Reels and Ruby Livingston, both of Rickman, and Sharon Reels of Cookeville; and grandchildren Zachary Taylor, Hillary Carnel, Holly Beth Roberts, Gabby Roberts, Grace Roberts, Katherine Roberts and Andrew Roberts.

Serving as pallbearers were Zachary Taylor, David Ward, Alan Carter, Phillip Livingston, Greg Allison and Paul Freeman.

Stanley Reed Gray

Stanley Reed Gray, 51, of Livingston passed away Feb. 3 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 6 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Ricky Lacy officiating. Interment followed in the Tharp Cemetery.

Stanley Reed Gray was born April 8, 1961, in Cookeville.

He was preceded in death by his father Billy N. Gray; sister Mitzi Gray; and grandparents Hershel and Thelma Gray, and Garlon and Ruth Clark.

Surviving relatives include his mother Rosa Nell Clark Gray; sister Michelle Barnett and husband Bryan; five nieces and three nephews; special friend Jacqueline Staggs; and a host of other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Bryan Barnett, Andy Gray, Jason Fletcher, Randall Dixon, Mark Barnett and Sean Barnett.

Harold Gentry Upchurch

Harold Gentry Upchurch, 74, of Livingston passed away Jan. 30 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Feb. 2 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. David Moore and Bro. David Sweitzer officiating. Interment followed in the Upchurch Cemetery in Alpine.

Harold Gentry Upchurch was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Overton County.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oakley and Eva (Smith) Upchurch.

Surviving relatives include his wife Barbara Upchurch of Livingston; daughter Donna Gentry and husband Randy; grandsons William Harold Green and Cody Wayne Green; sister Faye Hill of Alpine; brother J.L. Upchurch of Jamestown; and three nieces.

Serving as pallbearers were Tom Glausier, Bryan Johnson, Alvin Walker, Wayne McDonald, Ed Oliver and Michael Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers were William Green, Cody Green and Derek McDonald.

Teddy Bilbrey

U.S. Army Veteran And Compressor Operator

Teddy Bilbrey, 63, of Monterey passed away Feb. 8 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held Feb. 12 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Whittaker officiating. Interment followed in the Mose Wilson Cemetery with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Teddy Bilbrey was born June 22, 1949, in Overton County. He was a United States Army Vietnam veteran with the 101st Airborne Division and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. He was a compressor operator working in the natural gas industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Early and Jewellene Edwards Bilbrey; sisters Eva Bilbrey, Meritta Neal and Charlene Johnson; and brothers Billie Ray, Arlis, Bobby Earl, Talmadge Andrew and Eddie Bilbrey.

Surviving relatives include his companion Gertie Stults of Monterey; sons Heath and Jeremy Bilbrey of Monterey; stepson Devon Stults of Monterey; mother of his children Sheila Bilbrey of Cookeville; sisters Phyllis Vaughn of Monterey and Arlene Gillespie of Cookeville; and brother Paul Bilbrey of the Love Joy community.

Fred Richard Carr

Factory Worker And School Bus Driver

Fred Richard Carr, 83, of Livingston passed away Feb. 3 at his home. Funeral services were held Feb. 6 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Fossey officiating. Interment followed in the Ruth Chapel Cemetery.

Fred Richard Carr was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Overton County. He was a factory worker with General Motors and was an Overton County school bus driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and a member of Ruth Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert A. and Sloma Greenwood Carr; brothers Burnes, R.C., J.C., Clay and Hilary Carr; and sister Hazel Carr.

Surviving relatives include his son Timothy Carr of New York; daughters June Carr of Livingston and Sharon “Sam” Makula and husband Marc of Williamsburg, KY; sister Lela Stout of Akin, SC; special friend and companion Elva Dean Day of Livingston; and nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Bobby and Jimmy Carr, Rocky Mowan, Marc Makula, Tim Roberson and Paul Ashbery.

Helen Gwendolyn “Gwen” Thrasher, 73, of Livingston passed away Feb. 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 7 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Interment followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Helen Gwendolyn “Gwen” Thrasher was born April 22, 1939, in Overton County. She was a factory worker with Berkline Corp. and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Luther Van Buren and Etta Virginia Ray Ramsey; grandson Tyler Mark Thrasher; sister Eudean Boykin; and brothers Dr. Alg Ramsey and Leamon Ramsey.

Surviving relatives include her husband Randall Thrasher of Livingston; sons Christopher Thrasher and wife Kimberly, and Mark Thrasher and wife Laura, all of Livingston; brothers Donald Ramsey of the Independence community and Reed Ramsey of Cookeville; grandchildren Emily, Ashley and Cody Thrasher, Josh Fowler and Amber Coleman; and 10 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Randy Thrasher, Steve Thrasher, David Copeland, Josh Fowler, Nick Coleman, Cody Thrasher, Alex Scott and Roy Lee Seber.

Sabra Ann Wilson, 44, of Livingston passed away Feb. 4 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 7 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Buford officiating. Interment followed in the Falling Springs Cemetery in Alpine.

Sabra Ann Wilson was born Oct. 1, 1968, in Fentress County. She was a homemaker and a member of Allons Bethel Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her father Donald Handy; sisters Mildred Ann Handy and Debbie Fields; and brothers Michael, Tommy and Roger Dale Handy.

Surviving relatives include her mother Mildred Faye Handy of Livingston; husband Kenny Wilson of Livingston; son Jacob Wilson of Livingston; daughters Kendra Wilson of Livingston, and Jessica Melton and husband Mitchell of Monroe; granddaughter Maci Melton; brothers James, Billy and Steve Handy, all of Livingston, Brinte Handy and wife Maritta of Allons, and Gary Handy and wife Cathy of Rickman; sister Sharon Murphy of Livingston; special niece and nephew Landon and Jailee Kelly; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Jeremy Murphy, Kenny Wilson, Jacob and Timmy Ledbetter, Billy Ray and James Handy and Grant Presley.

Beola Smith Copeland

Beola Smith Copeland, 92, of Livingston passed away Feb. 6 at her home. No funeral services are planned.

Beola Smith Copeland was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Overton County. She was an auto parts factory worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents Covy C. and Bertha Tipton Smith, and husband Thomas Howard Copeland.

Surviving relatives include her sons Lonnie Copeland and wife Sherry, and Leonard Copeland, all of Livingston; daughter Judith Humbert of Vandalia, OH; sisters Justine Ledbetter and Charmaine Clough and husband Chuck, all of Dayton, and Janice Carney of Moraine, OH; and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
