JB Davidson, 88, passed Sept. 24, at his home. Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Hawkins and David Netherton officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 8, 1927 in Jackson County. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Bangham Heights Baptist Church. He retired from Tennessee Tech University maintenance department after 44 years of service. He was a member of Middle TN Antique Tractor and Engine Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis K. and Mary Susan Steward Davidson; first wife, Geraldine Moody Davidson; sister, Lena Marie Smith.

Surviving relatives include his wife of 37 years, Faye O’Bryan Davidson; son Bryan L. Davidson; two daughters, Shirley Brown (Thomas Schnepf), and Patricia Jackson (Donald Thrasher); sister, Lorene Rhoten, all of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Amber Jacobs (Michael), Mardi Jackson, Melissa Jackson, and Mikah Black; five great grandchildren.

Hightower

Sue Ann Johnson Hightower, age 75 of Lebanon, passed away Thursday Sept. 29, 2016. Funeral Services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Peace officiating. Entombment followed at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was Friday, Sept. 30, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Hightower was born Feb. 20, 1941 in Jackson County, Tenn., to the late James Carmon Johnson and Ledy Margaret Medlin Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, William H. “Bill” Hightower; brothers, Danny Johnson, David Johnson, and Ted Johnson; and sister, Polly Taylor. She is survived by daughter, Sheila Jones of Lebanon; brother, Dillard Johnson (Linda) of Cookeville; sister, Nell Farmer of LaVergne; and grandchildren, Shelly Jones (Soudavanh Sinpraseuth), Tilden Johnson, and Sagan Sinpraseuth.

Wanda Olene Jones Kennedy

Wanda Olene Jones Kennedy, 85, passed away Sept. 23 at Manor Care South in Indianapolis. Graveside services were held Sept. 29 at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 13, 1931 in Jackson County. She was an employee of McCall’s magazine. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded by her parents, Willie Andrew Jones and Mamie Stafford Jones; her husband, Jimmie Ray Kennedy; three brothers, I.B. Jones, Artie Lee Jones, and William Earl Jones; two sisters, Peggy Helen Jones and Patsy Moss.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Karen Jones Spencer of Beech Grove, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Gona of Indianapolis, and Brett Allen Withers of Nashville; one great grandson, Willie Gona; one sister, Annette Brown of Gainesboro; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Jones, Robbie Jones, and Nell Jones; several nieces and nephews.
