On Sat., Feb. 18, Austin Chandler Maberry was honored as the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen in the senior class of 2017 at Jackson County High School. Austin was accompanied at the awards ceremony by his mother, Tammy Tucker. This is the first time the award has been presented by the Caney Fork Chapter to a student at Jackson County High School. The DAR Good Citizens program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship including dependability, honesty, service to the school and community, leadership, and patriotism.
