Louie Carl Gilley, 102, passed away March 24 at the Waters of Smyrna Healthcare. Graveside services were held March 26 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville with military honors. Sanderson of Carthage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 4, 1915 in Rutherford County. He retired from Glen Mere Die Company in 1985 and then owned and operated Dimple Furniture Service until retiring in 1989. He was a U.S. Army veteran with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Hattie Harrell Gilley; siblings, Raymond Gilley, James Edward Gilley, Ester and Mary Gilley; wife, Dimple Irene Moore Gilley.
Surviving relatives include his step-son, Jerry Taylor of Granville; four grandchildren, Danny Taylor of Goodlettsville, Paula Veal and Jere Oakley, both of Smyrna, and Michael Taylor of Washington; five great grandchildren, Draper, Derrick, Le Ann, Ryan and Billy.
Donivan Gene Stealey
Donivan Gene Stealey, 82, passed away Jan. 26. A memorial service will be given at a later date in Granville. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born in 1934 in Meddlebourne, W. Va. He worked as a railroad engineer for the Rock Island and Illinois Central. He proudly served during the Korean Conflict era as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Fletcher Stealey.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 57 years, Erline Hardcastle Stealey; two children, John (Carol) Stealey and Linda (Mel) Carr; grandchildren, Christina and Catherine Carr, and Lauren and Hannah Stealey.
Rebecca Willmore Brown
Funeral services for Rebecca Willmore Brown, 93, of the Flynn’s Lick community of Jackson County, TN, were held at 11 A.M. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial followed in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN.
The family received friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services.
She passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville, TN. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Flynn’s Creek Church of Christ, and retired from Heavy Duty Manufacturing after 28 years.
She was born January 16, 1924, to the late Benton McMillan and Exie Clark Willmore. On December 23, 1948, she married Billie Brown,who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five Brothers: Jim, Edward, Raymond, Benton Jr., and Ensley Willmore; and 3 Sisters: Ruth Hawkins, Catherine Burris, and Louise Butler.
She is survived by one Daughter: Susan (George) Dudney of Cookeville, TN; one Grandson: Brian (Holly) Dudney of Cookeville, TN; one Granddaughter: Allison Dudney of Cookeville, TN; two Great Grandchildren: Garrett and Ella Dudney; one Brother: Sam (Robbie) Willmore of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bro. Edward Anderson and Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate at the services.

Jack Reeve, 85, passed away March 15 at Mabry Health Care Center. Memorial services will be held April 8 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. The family has chosen cremation. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 4, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He was a grocery store owner and a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo John Reeve Sr. and Loretta Sauer Reeve; his wife, Ann E. Bassler Reeve; one grandchild, Susie Hickey; one brother, Eugene Reeve.
Surviving relatives include, one son, Kirk (Mary) Reeve of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Romaine (Tom) Ballew of Chattanooga, and Leighann Flatt (Mickey Sircy) of Gainesboro; eight grandchildren, Bobby Reeve, Christie Reeve, Michelle (Andrew) Lewis, John Reeve, Eric (Alida) Jones, Mandy (Stephen) Pickett, Beth (Steve) Seiler, and Eric Hickey; four great grandchildren, Tazia Reeve, Ethan Hickey, Abby Hickey, and Ben Seiler.
Charles Edward Lee
Charles Edward Lee, 72, passed away March 29 at his home. Memorial services will be held April 8 at New Hope Baptist Church with spreading of his ashes immediately following the services. JC Kirby and Sons Funeral Chapels was in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 28, 1944 in Lakeland, Fla. He spent 26 years of his life as an Arborist (tree trimmer) and the following 26 years as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jay Lee and Bertha Ellis; sisters, Virginia Wilkerson and Frances George; sons, Richard (Ricky) William Lee and Russell Edward Lee.
Surviving relatives include his daughters, Joyce Ann Heady and Frances Marie Kernea; son, Darrel Wayne Lee; loving former wife of 46 years, Verletta Jewel Lee; brothers, Johnny Tackett and David Lee; aunt, Rowena Lowry; uncle, Buster Tackett; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
