The Homeschool Dramatic Society will present their 19th annual production on Sept. 14-16 at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center. Mary Evelyn McCurdy of Gainesboro has been writing, directing, and producing plays with this group since she established it in 1999.
“This spring I was having trouble deciding what this year’s play should be about,” McCurdy said. “Then my sister told me about a book she had started reading by Amy Carmichael about an Indian woman named Mimosa. As we talked, I got the familiar feeling God gives me when He lets me know what the next HDS production should be. I knew that we would be taking our audience to India! I knew that the story of Mimosa and Amy Carmichael was the story the God wanted us to tell this year.”
