JC Kilmon, 55, passed away Sept. 3 at his residence. Funeral services were held Sept. 5 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. Kathie Bowles and Rev. Tim Dunavant officiating. Interment followed at Kilmon Family Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Feb. 13, 1962 in Tompkinsville, Ky. He was the owner of a logging company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie E. and Avo Bonnie Kilmon; two brothers, James Benton Kilmon and Ricky G. Kilmon.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Pamela Kilmon of Gainesboro; one son, Philip Kilmon of Knoxville; one daughter, Ashley Kilmon Gwynn of Smyrna; two step-sons, Brandon Spivey and Steven Spivey, both of Gainesboro; three grandchildren, Elijah Kilmon, Lilly Spivey, and Levi Spivey; one brother, Archie Kilmon Jr. of Chestnut Mound; five sisters, Wanda Matthews, Bonnie (George) Flatt, and Joyce (Mark) Mullins, all of Gainesboro and Betty (Jonathan) McBride of Rickman, and Genivieve Hunter Kilmon of Gainesboro.

Carl Cook, 80, passed away Aug. 10. Funeral services were held Aug. 16 at Kaul Funeral Home in Garfield, Clinton Twp, Michigan. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp., Michigan. Kaul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by Lois and Harley Allen, Clois Armintrout, John and Helen Cook.

Surviving relatives include wife, Myra Cook, children, Brenda (Ted) Oldenkamp and Sandy (Marty) Melton; grandchildren, Morgan, Chad, McKenzie, and Dylan; brother, Clayron (Mildred) Cook; and Joe Armintrout.

Dawn Renae Wright, 43, passed away Sept. 2 in Smith County. Memorial services were held Sept. 9 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Morris McMaster officiating. The family has chosen cremation. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 16, 1974 in Madison Heights, MI. She was a housekeeper in the hospitality industry. She enjoyed being with her family and playing with her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Regina Dover; her grandmother, Maytha Williams; two aunts, Wanda Lopp and Janice Parker.

Surviving relatives include one son, Noah Wright of Hilham; two daughters and one son-in-law, Destini Wright and Josh Norris of Hilham and Alyssa Wright of Cookeville; one grandson, Jacob; father, Michael Dover; sister, Catina Lee of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one aunt, Dean Foster; one niece, Kiara Lee; one nephew, Kris Lee; her pets, Nala Bean and Grizzly.

 

Helen Sue Long

Helen Sue Long, 78, passed away Sept. 6 at Cumberland River Hospital. Funeral services were held Sept. 9 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Burton and Bro. Gerald Rich officiating. Interment followed at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Aug. 13, 1939 in Jackson County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wartrace Methodist Church and Wartrace Homeowner’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie W. Lee and Ida Mae Lee; one daughter, Denise Lynn Long; one sister, Betty Lou Beck.

Surviving relatives include one son, James K. Long, Jr. of Pleasant Shade; two daughters, Brenda Gail (John) Taylor of Springfield, OH and Cheryl (Lance Lassiter) Long of Pleasant Shade; two grandchildren, John Nathan (Kristi) Taylor of Medway, OH and Natalie Taylor of Springfield; two great grandchildren, Clara Marie Taylor and John William Taylor; one brother, Charles (Jane) Lee of Detroit; one sister, Shirley Hix of Gainesboro; stepmother, Beadie Lee of Gainesboro.
