Tommy Haney

Factory Worker

Tommy Haney, 43, passed away Oct. 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Haney officiating. Interment followed at Dodson Branch Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 7, 1974 in Jackson County. He was a factory worker and loved being outdoors and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Gene Haney; special cousins, Jason Blake Haney and McKenzie Farley Allen; several uncles and aunts.

Surviving relatives include his fiancée, Tabitha Short of Celina; one son, Dakota Thomas Haney of Celina; one stepson, Dustin Blake Keyes of Doyle, Tenn.; mother and stepfather, Carolyn Haney and Ricky Haney of Cookeville; maternal grandmother, Gladys Haney of Gainesboro; three uncles, Ray Haney, Garry Haney, and Billy S. Haney; one aunt, Patricia Denson; cousins, other relatives and friends.

 

Rozell Johnson Brown

Rozell Johnson Brown, 98, passed away Oct. 17 at NHC Healthcare Center in Cookeville. Funeral services were held Oct. 19 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Welch Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 22, 1919 in Jackson County. She was a homemaker and farmer and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Raines “Pap” Johnson and Leitha Coomer Johnson; her husband, Harvie L Brown; one son, Paul Brown; two infant daughters; eight brothers, Nathan, Virgil, Vestle, Sanford, Oakley, Laddie, Elvis and Tom Johnson; four sisters, Elvie Johnson, Ella Johnson, Frances Hamlet and Lassie Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Mary Katherine Brown and one son-in-law, Billy Dennis.

Surviving relatives include one son, Jackl Brown; two daughters, Linda Dennis (Alvin) Pryor of Gainesboro and Anna Jean (Jimmy) Ellis of Gainesboro; six grandchildren, Steve Dennis, Tracy Ellis Terry, Paula Sue Brown, Janetta Dennis, Greg (Trish) Brown and Joey Ellis; twelve great-grandchildren, Summer Dennis, Austin Dennis, Tanna Terry, Kelsey Brown, Tisha Terry, Robert, Skylar, Adrianna, Gregory, Thomas and Zaniel Brown and Remington Brown; special granddaughter, Lisa McCormick Strong; special caregiver, Tina Maynard.
