American Legion Hosts Program To Honor Veterans

The American Legion Post 129 of Jackson County sponsored a program on Nov. 12 to pay tribute to military veterans and their family members and those still on active duty. Different speakers emphasized that soldiers won and sustained the freedom we enjoy in America. The special patriotic program was presented at the Jackson County Middle School in the gymnasium.

Several veterans were in attendance along with family members of veterans whom have passed. Cub Scout Pack 296 posted the colors with Veterans marching behind them. Commander Smith led everyone in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and Pastor Donovan led the crowd in prayer. The bell “tolled” for each Jackson County soldier, seaman and airman who paid the supreme sacrifice in WWI, WWII and the wars since that time.
