Cathy Phillips

Factory Worker

Cathy Phillips, 68, passed away March 18 at her residence. Funeral services were held March 20 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Old Antioch Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 13, 1949 in Gainesboro. She was a factory worker at Nissan and Hutchison. She was a member of the Burristown Church of Christ. She loved holidays and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Odell “Boots” Phillips and Zelma Mae Phillips.

Surviving relatives include sons, Scottie Pennington of Gainesboro and Jamie (Jennifer) Pennington of Springfield, Tenn.; grandchildren, Corey Pennington, Reese Pennington, Katie Pennington and Allye Pennington; and two great grandchildren.

David Harris

Ground Maintenance/Landscaping

David Harris, 58, passed away March 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 21 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Reid officiating. Interment followed at Vinson Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 17, 1959 in Carthage. He worked in ground maintenance and landscaping. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. He love being outdoors, especially turkey hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. Harris and Alta Harris; and brother, Jackie Harris.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Robbie Harris of Granville; daughters, Amanda (Brandyn) Wright of Granville and Jennifer (Travis) Thomas of Gainesboro; step son, Joseph Woodard of Silver Point; step daughters, Leslie Conder of W. Va. and Stephanie Stewart of Carthage; grandchildren, Jaylan Wright, Kara Wright, Isaiah Thomas, Lyza Thomas, Ava Thomas, Ashlynn Stewart, Judd Conder, Emma Conder, Liliana Barsotti and Braden Woodard; brothers, Wayne (Brenda) Harris of Gainesboro, Larry (Tina) Harris of Granville and Jimmy Harris of Granville; sister, Diane (Jerry) Driver of Gainesboro, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Louise Stafford

Homemaker

Louise Stafford, 77, passed away March 16 at Signature Healthcare. Funeral services were held March 19 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment followed at Pharris Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Aug. 3, 1940 in Gainesboro. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and coloring. She love singing and listening to bluegrass and gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herhsal Hunter and Jewel Hunter; husband, Leslie Stafford; eight brothers and sisters; great-great grandchildren, Jason Blake Haney and Abigail Melissa Nicole Steward.

Surviving relatives include daughters Wanda Jones of Cookeville, Carolyn Haney of Carthage and Patsy Phillips of Livingston; brother, Billy Hershal Hunter of Gainesboro; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Patricia “Pat” Hansen

School Teacher/Principal

Patricia “Pat” Hansen, 81, passed away March 16 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 22 at Gainesboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Dunavant officiating. A private burial will be at a later time at the Hansen farm. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Bulls Gap, Tenn. She was a school teacher and a principal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Horner and Lula Horner; brother, Bill Horner Jr.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Ray Hansen of Gainesboro; son, Mark F. Hansen of Lafayette, La.; daughter, Kathryn Folse of Katy, Texas; brother, Randy Horner of Florida; sister, Wilma Longfellow of East Tenn.; and six grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

James H. Hamlet

Handyman

James H. Hamlet, 83, passed away March 20 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 24 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd officiating. Interment followed at Lynn Cemetery. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 15, 1934 in Gainesboro. He was a handyman and an assembly worker at General Motors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Hamlet and Daffo Hamlet; and infant brother, Lonnie Hamlet.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Ethel Hamlet of Gainesboro; children, Debra (Steve) Cagle, Jerry Hamlet, Gary Gooch, Jennie (Erin) Youell, Mary LaDon Hamlet, Roger Hamlet, Jenny Hamlet, Brenda (Randy) Young, and Jim (Brandy) Hamlet; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Lennox, Frances Donaldson, Mary Elizabeth and Joyce Campen; and brothers, Raymond, George and Floyd Hamlet.
