James M. Wheeler Jr.
James M. Wheeler Jr., 72, passed away March 24 at his residence. Funeral services were held March 25 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bode officiating. Interment followed at Wheeler Cemetery in the Dry Fork Community. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 27, 1945 in Cookeville. He was a disabled employee of Textron Aerostructures in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Madison Wheeler Sr. and Aline Scarlett Wheeler; grandson, Shannon Carter; brother, David Wheeler.
Surviving relatives include son, Jason Wheeler of Gainesboro; daughters, Alecia Wheeler and Tammy Wheeler, both of Gainesboro; grandsons, Jesse Wheeler of Whitleyville, Eli Wheeler of the Dodson Branch community and Luck Wheeler of Whitleyvlle; granddaughters, Kecia (Eric) Bartholomew of Gainesboro and Madison Wheeler of Gainesboro; great grandchildren, Lily Bartholomew and Luke Bartholomew; and aunt, Bobbie Jean Dennis of Gainesboro.

John W. Vanhooser, 83, passed away March 27 at Bethesda Health Care Center. Funeral services were held March 31 at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Flatt officiating. Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born August 30, 1934, in Jackson County. He was a retired mail carrier and a member of the Stone Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene “Buster” VanHooser and Elza Moss VanHooser; and sister, Jean Locke.
Surviving relatives include his wife, June Vanhooser of Gainesboro; sons: Stanley (Karen) Vanhooser of Cookeville and Steven Vanhooser of Madison; step son, Richie Meadows of Gainesboro; step daughter, Marsha (James) Emerton of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Andrea Womack, B.J. Vanhooser and Jackson Vanhooser; step grandchildren, Latosha Meadows, Nolan Meadows, Jessica Emerton and Ruby Randolph; brother-in-law, Gilbert Locke of Michigan; special cousin, John Edd (Faye) Willmore of Gainesboro; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
