Retired Sgt. First Class
Stewart Minder, 90 of Pleasant Shade, passed away on June 22 at his residence. The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mich. at a later date. Upper-Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 4, 1927 in Eastover, S.C. He was a retired Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Minder and Louise Minder; son, Solomon Minder; brothers, James Francis and Charles; and sisters, Mary Estelle, Nora and Williemae.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Peggy Minder of Pleasant Shade; sons, Christopher Boling and wife, Christina of Pleasant Shade, Robert Boling and wife, Sarah of Bellevue, Mich. and Aaron Boling of Niles, Mich.; daughters, Shelia Clark and husband, Mike of Battle Creek, Mich. and Mikelle Roberts and husband, Matt of Gainesboro; nieces, Pearline Carter, Delores Goodwin, Jackie Weeks and Gladdice Barnes; nephew, Sam McMillian; 50 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
