Bobby G. Stafford

Bobby G. Stafford, 66, of Gainesboro, passed away July 20 at his residence. Memorial services were held on July 28 at the Double Springs Church of Christ. Bro. Eric Collins officiated at the service. The family has chosen cremation. Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 27, 1952 in Jackson County. He was forklift driver at Nielsen and a member of the Free State Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Stafford; brother, Danny Stafford; stepdaughter, Christy Logsdon and step granddaughter, Lydia Logsdon.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Kim Stafford of Gainesboro; sons, Matt and wife, Amber Stafford of Cookeville and Andy and wife Niki Stafford of Cookeville; daughter, Toni Stafford of Cookeville; 14 grandchildren; Four great grandchildren; mother Margaret E. Stafford of Gainesboro and sister, Brenda Faye Peek of Gainesboro.

 

James A. Dyer

Traveler

James A. Dyer, 81, of Cookeville, passed away on July 24 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held on July 26 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Edmond Dyer Cemetery in Putnam County.

He was born Oct. 31, 1936 in Putnam County. He was a farmer and traveled to 49 of the 50 states.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Dyer and Magdalene Dyer and his wife Marie Dyer.

Surviving relatives include his daughter Carla and husband, Donnie Tidwell of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Dusty and wife, Jessica Tidwell of Cookeville and Cindel and husband, Danny Allen of Cookeville; great grandchildren, Paisley Tidwell, Levi Tidwell and Lilyanna Allen and brother, Marvin and wife, Sue Dyer of Cookeville.

 

Landon Lee Kernea

Landon Lee Kernea, 12, passed away on July 25 at home. Funeral services were held on July 27 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Matthew Scoggins and Randy Heady officiating. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.

He was born on April 13, 2006 in Bay County, Fla. He was a Jackson County school student.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Al Kernea and Charles Lee.

Surviving relatives include his father, Chris Kernea of Gainesboro; mother, Fran Kernea of Cookeville; stepfather, Kevin Wagner of Cookeville; grandmothers, Verletta Jewel Lee of Bowling Green, Ky., Anne Kernea of Chattanooga and Cindy Kernea of Gainesboro; sister, Jessica Leighanne Kernea of Knoxville; step sisters, Kristen and Emily Wagner of Cookeville and several uncles, aunts, numerous cousins and many friends.
