Another election has come and gone. On Thursday, Aug. 2 Jackson County saw some changes in political offices. Most notably were City Aldermen and County Commissioners.
Randy Heady, who was appointed County Executive after the passing of James Kinnaird, retained the office of County Mayor. Heady received 1,090 votes. Marty Hinson was re-elected as Sheriff of Jackson County receiving 2,028 votes. Anthony “Mudcat” Flatt, trustee; Kim Barham, register of deeds; Jeff Hardy, circuit court clerk; Preacher Anderson, road superintendent and Amanda Ward Stafford, county clerk will all be remaining in office. City Mayor Lloyd Williams will also remain in office with Roger Gore, Wayne Strong and Jackie Jenkins, Jr. elected as city aldermen.
