On Sat. Aug. 18, Jackson County Rescue was called to Cummins Falls for a small swift water rescue. Earlier that morning, State Park Rangers had put out an advisory that the gorge area of the park was closed for the day due to flooding caused by the recent rains and that visitors would not be able to hike to the base of the falls or get into the water. Jackson County Rescue along with EMS, Dodson Branch Fire and State Parks were able to rescue those people in the water.
