On Sept. 12, 17 male inmates from the Jackson County Jail received certificates for completing one of the life skill classes taught by Maranatha Recovery House located in Jackson County. “These classes, taught at the jail by Maranatha volunteers provide valuable tools to help the inmates succeed in life,” said Pastor Ken. “We can make a difference in people’s lives if we try. Helping them succeed benefits the entire community.” In August, 29 women received certificates as well. The classes will continue to be taught on a weekly basis, covering subjects ranging from anger management, grief and abandonment, finances and many more. All this is at no cost to the county. We deeply appreciate Sheriff Marty and the entire staff for making a difference.
