Wayne Wells

Minister

Wayne Wells, 64, of Gainesboro passed away on Dec. 19 at Signature Health Care Center in Algood. Funeral services were held on Dec. 23 at the Gainesboro Church of Christ in Gainesboro with Joe Wells and Dale Wells officiating. Wayne had chosen cremation.

He was born April 30, 1954, in Waco, Texas. He was the minister of Gainesboro Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by father, Weldon Clay Wells; and grandchildren, Deacon and Maddox Wells.

Surviving relatives include wife, Cindy Wells of Gainesboro; sons, Wade (Mary) Wells of Appleton, Wis., Joe (Erin) Wells of Killen, Ala. and Scott (Julie) Wells of Brentwood; 13 Grandchildren; his mother, Joann Wells of Waco, Texas; brothers, Dale (Mary) Wells of Indio, Calif., Keven (Donna) Wells of Memphis, Tenn. and Troy Wells of Moody, Texas; sister, Donna (Terry) Mixon of Houston, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home of Gainesboro was in charge of arrangements.

Delmar D. Daniels

Delmar D. Daniels, 71, of Gainesboro passed away on Dec. 17 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chosen cremation, with a celebration of life to be held at a later time.

He was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Ripley, Ohio. He was a field engineer in the plastic molding industry and served in the Ohio National Guard.

He was preceded in death by parents, Hurshel Daniels and Sudie Daniels; son, Eric Lynn Daniels; brothers, Marvin Daniels and David Daniels; and sister, Barbara Daniels.

Surviving relatives include son, Michael Wade (Karen) Daniels of Gainesboro; brothers, Joseph Daniels, Larry Daniels and Wayne Daniels, all of Ohio; and sister, Evelyn Wollard of Ohio.

Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home of Gainesboro was in charge of arrangements.

Linda Faye Lane Flatt

Linda Faye Lane Flatt, 75, of Punta Gorda, Fla. passed away on Dec. 17 at Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Fla. Funeral services were held on Dec. 22 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove Community of Jackson County.

She was born March 25, 1943 in Gainesboro.

She was preceded in death by parents, James McKinley Lane and Jewell Martin Lane; and husband, Billy Cleveland Flatt.

Surviving relatives include son, Billy Wayne Flatt of Macomb County, Mich.; daughters, Sharon Reid and Donna Flatt, both of Punta Gorda, Fla.; grandchildren, Billy Flatt, Jr and Aaron Flatt; brother, Larry Lane Martin and wife, Sandra; sister, Betty Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Billy Hershel Hunter

Billy Hershel Hunter, 72, of Gainesboro passed away on Dec. 19 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh Community.

He was born Jan. 10, 1946 in Gainesboro. He was a furniture factory worker.

He was preceded in death by parents, Hershel Hunter and Jewel Hunter; granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Wiggins; great grandchild, Madison Hunter; brothers, Andrew, Bobby, Steve, Charles and James Hunter and Billy Joe Stafford; and sisters, Lucille Stafford, Minnie Rush, Bonnie Stafford and Linda Stafford.

Surviving relatives include wife, Sammie Hunter of Gainesboro; daughters, Samantha Haney of Cookeville, Tammy Wiggins of Gainesboro and Amanda Boles of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Hershel Hunter, Linda Smith, Tamara Stafford, Caleb Blackburn, Dakota Allen and Kyra Shepard; special great grandchild, Daneisha Highland; and several other great grandchildren.

Jo Helen Heady

Jo Helen Heady, 80, of Gainesboro passed away on Dec. 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She had chosen cremation, with no funeral services at this time.

She was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Clay County. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ed Lackey and Myrtle Buck Lackey; husband, Bobby Clay Heady; brothers, Tommy Lackey and David Lackey; and sisters, Tennie Mae Ballard, Paulette Stafford, Billie Lackey and Earnestine Tinsley.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Rachel Dawne Heady of Monterey; grandchildren, Sydney Shae Heady, Austin Blake Johnson and Alan Ethan Turner; great grandchild, Kashton Lukas Scott McCowan; and sister, Thelma Hogg of Gainesboro.

James Edward Morgan

James Edward Morgan, 90, of the New Hope Community passed away Dec. 22 at Mabry Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Heady officiating. Interment followed in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Overton County.

He was born April 2, 1928 in Jackson County. He worked as a technician for Collins Radio Corporation, and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lester C. Morgan and Catherine Morgan; wife, Virginia Morgan; brothers, Austin Morgan, Cecil Morgan, Billy Morgan and Donald Morgan; and sister, Linda Morgan.

Surviving relatives include son, William Morgan of Michigan; daughter, Rebecca Morgan of Algood; grandson, Brandon Morgan; brothers, Robert (Virginia) Morgan of Lynchburg, and Clay (Kay) Morgan of Portland; and sisters, Maggie Fetzer of Cookeville and Louise Collins of Gallatin.

Debrah “Deb” Sheron

Debrah “Deb” Sheron, 68, of Cookeville passed away Dec. 24 at Bethesda Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. The family has chosen cremation.

She was born April 22, 1950 in Gainesboro. She was the owner of Sheron and Forkum Drug Co. and Country Cabin Liquors. She attended the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ben Fowler Brown and Lona Brown; paternal grandparents, Tom and Arizona Brown; maternal grandparents, Herman and Emma Brown; brother, Ronnie Brown and sisters, Bernice Brown and Reba Allen.

Surviving relatives include daughter, Sandi Leigh Sheron of Baxter; grandson, Colten Patrick Johns of Cookeville; sister, Nell Anderson of Gainesboro; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ollie James “O.J.” Loftis

Ollie James “O.J.” Loftis, 95, of Monterey passed away on Dec. 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral service were held Dec. 27 at The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Henry and Bro. Eddy Way officiating. Interment followed in the West Cemetery.

He was born July 18, 1923 in Cookeville. He was a farmer, factory worker and he attended the Monterey Community Church.

He was preceded in death by parents, James Murray and Ollie Ray Loftis; sister, Cora Walker; brother, BM Loftis; half sisters, Willie Danner and Mae Bennett; and girlfriend for over 33 years, Lillian Allen.

Surviving relatives include cousins, Mary Tom (Larry) Sabin of Ohio, Pearl (and late husband, Walter) Jones of Ohio and Dr. Hughlett (and late wife, Joan) Morris of Arizona.
