Robert Louis Minshall

Robert Louis Minshall, 78, of Gainesboro, TN passed 25 Feb. 2019, to join his beloved wife Wanda J. Tackett-Minshall in heaven. Surrounded by many loved ones, after a duel with cancer, he has moved on. Bob was born in St. Louis, MO to Norman L. and Olivia A. Minshall. He was “Dad” to six children and “Paw-Paw” to many grandchildren. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran and discharged with honor. He taught his children God, honesty and integrity. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, auto mechanics, joke telling, and road trips. He taught us to love and be there for one another. Bob is survived by his sister Lanita, and his children Stephen B. and Kimberly A. Jeffers; Robert C., Jason S., and Daniel R. Minshall, and their families. There will be cremation in lieu of burial. He said, “I have the greatest family in the world and I love you all.” Thank you, Dad! We love you!

 

Kathren Tate Bakewell

Kathren Tate Bakewell, 78, of Spencer, passed away Feb. 22 at Generations of Spencer. Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Russell Sigler and Bro. Glenn B. Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community.

She was born Dec. 23, 1940, in Perry County, Ky. She was a factory worker and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, Pearl Cornett and Maggie Mae Cornett; husband, John David Bakewell; brother, Paul Cornett; and sisters, Clara Blair, Bertha Vaughn and Eartha Jones.

Surviving relatives include daughters, Debbie (Glen) Ramsey, of Cookeville, Karen Amanda (Chris) Parsons of Taylor, Mich., Brenda (Mike) Dice of Taylor, Mich., and Linda (Russell) Sigler of Westland, Mich. brother, John Henry Cornett; sisters, Elva Lee Russell, Jeanette Gray, Naomi Nash, Alma Jean Barrett and Brenda Faye Schmoldt; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

 

Christine Brewer

Christine Brewer, 72, of Gainesboro, passed away Feb. 22 at WyndRidge Health and Rehab Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held Feb. 25, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Old Union Cemetery in Hilham.

She was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Jackson County. She was a homemaker, caretaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.

She was preceded in death by father, Roy H. Daniels; husband, J.C. Brewer; sister, Carolyn Sue Norris; brother, Lonnie Daniels; partner, J.B. Brown; nephew, Loyd Daniels; and step sons, Chris Brewer and Lonnie and Carol Lee Brown.

Surviving relatives include son, James Charles Brewer of Gainesboro; daughter, Melissa Estep of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Tyler and Cailyn Estep of Gainesboro; son in law, Kenneth Estep of Gainesboro; mother, Vula Daniels Hummel of Watertown; brothers, Melvin and Judy Daniels and Floyd Daniels, of Watertown; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

 

Bobby Joe Sparks

Bobby Joe Sparks, 75, of Gainesboro, passed away Feb. 22 at his residence. A celebration of life was held on Feb. 27 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Brittanny Barney and Mary Lettau officiating. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Dec. 31, 1943 in Cookeville. He was an appliance repairman and served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by parents, Dewey Paul Sparks and Anna Mae Sparks; grandchild, James Paul Holloway; and brother, Dewey Frank Sparks.

Surviving relatives include son, Steven Mitchell Sparks of San Francisco, Calif,; daughters, Barbara Pryor of Gainesboro and Mary Lettau of Boulder, Colo.; brother, Charles Sparks of Cookeville; sister, Shelby Jean Kail of Cookeville; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Dean Reed Wilson

Dean Reed Wilson, 85, of Gainesboro, passed away Feb. 23 at Mabry Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. John Mabery and Bro. Paul Reed Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Birdwell Cemetery in the Center Grove Community.

She was born July 26, 1933 in Gainesboro. She was a secretary for Production Credit Association and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, William Thomas (W.T.) Reed and Sallie Burris Reed Davis; husband, Doy T. Wilson; sister, Elva Reed Meadows; brothers, Cecil Reed and Walter Minor Reed; daughter in law, Vickie Wilson; and a special niece, Iva Jean Meadows Whitaker.

Surviving relatives include sons, Jerry (Frankie) Wilson and Randall Wilson, all of Gainesboro and David (Debbie) Wilson of Bloomington Springs; grandchildren, Jackie Wilson, Abbie Bryan, Sandy Jo Collier, Russell Wilson and Michelle Polston; great grandchildren, Tomas Allen, Jayla Bryan, Derrick Brock, C.J. Collier, Channing Collier and Clayton Collier; sister, Frances “Tootie” Anderson of Gainesboro; foster sister, Willadean Cobb of Cookeville; and several nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

 

Lexi Vaughan

Lexi Vaughan, 21, of Lebanon passed away on Feb. 22. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon, with Pastor Mark Youngman and Bro. Todd Elliott officiating. Interment followed in the Mr. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

She was born Sept. 24, 1997, in Lebanon. She enjoyed interior design, photography, playing board and card games and was an avid Alabama fan. She was kind hearted and loved to comfort people in times of need.

She was preceded in death by grandfather, Frank Watts.

Surviving relatives include, father Jim (Carrie) Vaughan; mother, Brandi (Kenneth) Tilton; fiancé, Justin Stewart; siblings, Jimmy Vaughan, Elijah Vaughan, Levi Vaughan, Miriam Vaughan and Anna Ruth Vaughan; grandparents, Beverly Bell, Bob Bell, Jim Vaughan, Stephanie Rose and Judy Maier; aunts and uncles, BJ (Matt) Bryson, Frankie Webb, Bart Bell, Amy Morris, Steve Ross and Christy (Tim) Sapp; and numerous cousins, friends and loved ones.
