Cave Diver Rescued From Local Cave

On April 16 at approximately 3 p.m. ,Josh Bratchley, a professional cave diver from the United Kingdom, became untethered from his group of cave divers. The group had been exploring caves for three or four days in Jackson County. The group exited the cave and realized that Josh was missing. They went back in to look for him but was unable to locate him. After numerous attempts they finally contacted E911 at approximately 1 a.m.

Jackson County responded to an area on Flynn’s Creek Road and soon realized that they were not equipped for this rescue. They reached out to Hamilton County Rescue for help. Once Hamilton County arrived it was soon apparent that a specialist in cave diving was needed.
