New Look To Local County Museum

Last year, the Town of Gainesboro submitted a grant application to the Tennessee Historic Commission (THC) in Nashville for improvements to the Jackson County Historical Museum. A grant amount was awarded by the state of over $17,000 for improvements to the building, which was supplemented by a local match of over $11,000, from Gainesboro and the Jackson County Historical Society.

Exterior improvements were made with these funds that included painting and caulking of the outside of the building, clapboard repair on the west side of the structure, restoration of its six windows and the installation of gutters and downspouts.
