Betty Brown, 83, of the Shiloh community passed away July 15 at her residence. Funeral services were held July 17 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Mainord officiating. Interment followed in the Allentown Cemetery in the New Salem community.
She was born April 30, 1936 in Jackson County. She worked at Nielsen and was a member of the Cummins Mill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert Lee Hopkins and Mary Susan Hopkins; and brothers, Marion Hopkins, Joe Hopkins, Lewis Morgan Hopkins and Edwin Lee Hopkins.
Surviving relatives include: daughter, Rita (Dewey) Barlow of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Joey (Tonya) Poston of Cookeville and Mandy (Mike-Jughead) Perhay of Cookeville; great grandchildren, Austin Poston, Samantha Poston, Tommy Perhay and M.J. Perhay; brother, Charles (Reba) Hopkins of Gainesboro; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Brenda J. Parker
Brenda J. Parker, 69 of Gainesboro passed away July 16 at Select Specialty Hospital in Powell. Funeral services were held July 20 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 6, 1949 in Fayetteville. She owned a cleaning and janitorial service and attend Life Church of Cookeville.
She was preceded in death by parents, Curtis Roland and Della Wilma Thompson; and husband, Oliver “Bucky” Parker.
Surviving relatives include: son, Oliver “Buddy” Parker of Cookeville; daughters, Della Conn of Gainesboro, Misty Parker of Cookeville and Tamika Parker of Cookeville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Conn, Devin, Haley, Antonio, Makayla (Will) Ripley, O’Ryan and Gavin Parker; brothers, Curtis Roland of Gainesboro and Randy Roland and wife, Beverly of Gainesboro; and sisters, Judy Hill of Mich., and Freda Hager of Gainesboro.
