Man Injured At Cummins Falls State Park

According to Jackson County EMS, on Saturday, Aug. 17 at approximately 1:39 p.m. Jackson County EMS crews responded to Cummins Falls State Park for a medical patient below a bluff when a young male disregarded safety orders from on duty park rangers and jumped over wooden safety rails before failing approximately 50 feet off a bluff and landed on jagged rocky terrain near working emergency crews. ]

Crews immediately began working on the severely injured patient. The patient was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to a level one-trauma center due to the severity of his injuries.
