Carolyn A. Szulwach
Carolyn A. Szulwach, 76, of Gainesboro passed away Aug. 14 at Mabry Health Care Center. The family has chosen cremation, with no services planned at this time.
She was born Oct. 7, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Salvagin and Helen Gardner Salvagin; and brother, John Atwell.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Brian Szulwach of Lancaster, PA and Walter Szulwach of Circleville, NY; daughters, Susan Perrotta of Goodlettsville and Stacey Lutzyk of Lakewood; sister, Marilyn Smith of Gainesboro; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Matilda Chaffin Craighead
Matilda Chaffin Craighead, 81, of Cookeville passed away Aug. 19 at Signature Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Interment followed in the Pharris Cemetery.
She was born May 8, 1938 in Jackson County. She worked as a bank teller and was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents, Norman Chaffin and Hattie Harris Chaffin; husband, Edd Roy Craighead; brother, Perry N. Chaffin; and sisters, Jamie Chaffin Hix, Mary Lucinda Chaffin Myers and Velma Jo Norton.
Surviving relatives include: daughters, Anita (Steve) Huddleston of Owensboro, KY and Jeanette (Terry) Colson of Livingston; grandchildren, Ross (Ashley) Grigg of Gainesboro and April Grigg of Cookeville; great grandchild, Cameron Grigg of Gainesboro; and sister, Geraldine (Jon) Collins of Portland.
Wilma Jean Anderson
Wilma Jean Anderson, 78, of Gainesboro passed away Aug. 20 in Spring Hill. Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Chaplin Mike Dobrill officiating. Interment followed in the Stacy Cemetery.
She was born April 24, 1941 in Gainesboro. She was a homemaker and attended the Freewill Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Hubert Hammock and Ardie Hammock; husband, James Howard Anderson; sister, Averdale Hammock; and brothers, James Hammock and Lonnie Hammock.
Surviving relatives include: daughter, Phyllis Ann Farmer of Spring Hill; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Ulis Hammock and wife, Pauline and Truman Hammock and wife, Glenda; and sisters, Truzene Phy, Thelma Barlow, Willadean Isaacs and Betty Coffman.
Carlon (Wod) Kinnaird
Carlon (Wod) Kinnaird, 79, of Jackson County passed away Aug. 22 at Signature Health Care. Mr. Kinnaird chose cremation with no services.
He was born in Jackson County. He served during the Vietnam War, where he was an ambulance driver at Martin Army Hospital in Fort Benning, GA. He retired from General Motors then returned home where he worked for many years as a security guard at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Zion Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thurman and Lavada Judd Kinnaird; brothers, Dawson and Charles; and sisters, Juanita Palk, Frances Ramsey and Peggy Sparks.
Surviving relatives include: uncle, James Kinnaird of Cookeville; sisters, Anna Ruth Bean of Dayton, OH and Margaret (Ralph) Chaffin and Deanie (Dale) Bowman, all of Cookeville; brothers, Ralph (Maureen) Kinnaird of Flowood, MS and David (Patsy) Kinnaird; sister in law, Helen Kinnaird; brother in law, Lester Sparks, all of Cookeville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
