Talking Local

The warm and inviting confines of the Bull and Thistle in Gainesboro provided the setting for a gathering of rural leaders and local concerned citizens last week – a gathering to address community needs and concerns.

The Rural Leaders of America Conference was hosted in Gainesboro at the Bull and Thistle and was billed as a “meeting of leaders from all over rural America.” According to the mission statement of the conference, “this meeting is designed to help inspire current and potential future leaders with discussions on topics such as town and community infrastructure development, new information technology, entrepreneurial opportunities, business, tourism, economic development, and ideas to help underprivileged people develop new skills and abilities in order to build an optimistic future for generations to come.”
