Pickett County, at some point we all must feel for Pickett. We feel for them because we have all been them once or twice before. Pickett is a team of just 15 young men with big hearts that held on till the end, and when they scored their one touchdown celebrated like they just won the Super Bowl.
It is easy to forget; sometimes, football is just a game meant to teach teamwork and cooperation. To give our young people a chance to compete and fellowship in (mostly) friendly competition, and yes teach them to lose or win with dignity. Pickett played with dignity and the Devils played with honor.
