George B. Hamilton

George B. Hamilton, 80, of Bloomington Springs passed away Nov. 6 at his residence. Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Burris Cemetery on Mabry School Road.

He was born Oct. 26, 1939 in Gainesboro. He was a factory worker at Dacco and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Willie Hamilton and Vida Mae Hensley Hamilton; grandson, Tyler Hamilton; brothers, Billy P. Hamilton and Donald C. Hamilton; and sister, Ora Lee Knight.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Moline Stafford Hamilton of Bloomington Springs; sons, William McKinley Hamilton of Bloomington Springs, Michael Lee Hamilton of Indianapolis, Ind. and John (Rachel) Stafford of Bloomington Springs; daughter, Georgia Irene Driesens of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; brother, Daniel T. Hamilton of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Betty (Roy) Smallwood of Gainesboro, Lela (Jerry) Jamison of Nashville and Wanda Sue Stafford of Bellingham, Wash.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jasper Carl Haile

Jasper Carl Haile, 73, of Gainesboro passed away Nov. 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Jimmy Anderson, Chris Ramsey and Charles Burgess officiating. Interment followed in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community.

He was born Aug. 16, 1946 in Gainesboro. He was a cattle farmer, a member of the Cattleman’s Association and served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 129. He was affiliated with the Flynns Creek Church of Christ and was a former member of the Jackson County Commission.

Surviving relatives include one aunt, several cousins and many friends.

Johnnie Maxine Long

Mrs. Johnnie Maxine Long, age 96, of Cookeville, passed away Thursday morning October 24, 2019 at Bethesda Health Care Center. No services are planned.

She was born June 18, 1923 in Troy, AL to the late John Franklin Huggins and Valeta Chandler Huggins.

Mrs. Long was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by her son, John Long (wife, Darlene) of Granville, TN; daughter Cindy Layton (husband, Kevin) of Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Long; daughter, Rebecca Mitchell; two sisters, Jimmie Covington and Mae Clark; and two brothers, Jessie and Melvin Huggins.
