Dona Clyde Loftis
Dona Clyde Loftis, 103 of the Roaring River community passed away Nov. 23 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Dow Allen officiating. Interment followed in the Smyrna Cemetery in Putnam County.
She was born Oct. 18, 1916 in Jackson County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morrison Creek Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Davis Allen and Lena Ransom Allen; husband, Oplis J. Loftis; son, Sam J. Loftis; sons in law, Vernon Morgan and Randall King; sister, Lora V. Roberts; and brothers, Lonnie Allen, Lewis Allen, Corda Allen, George Allen and Leonard Allen.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Allan D. (Almedia) Loftis of Livingston and Milton (Judy) Loftis of Gainesboro; daughters, Retta (David) Dudney, Ella Morgan, Wanda King and Harriette (Richard) Mabry, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kelly (Elaina) Morgan, Douglas (Tonya) King, Bradley (Sherri) Loftis, Dianna (Brett) Reich and Shawn Mabry; great grandchildren, Katie, Kristin, Braiden, Madison and Cooper; sister in law, Dorothy Allen of Mich.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Georgie C. Buck
Georgie C. Buck, 66, of Gainesboro passed away Nov. 28 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 1 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Phillips and Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Old Antioch Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 11, 1953 in Jackson County. He was a carpenter and a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ and Burristown Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Georgie Lee Buck and Opal E. Goolsby Buck; wife, Sue Buck; brother, Roy Buck; and brother in law, Gary Stacy.
Surviving relatives include: son, Ray Buck and fiancee, Lisa Savage of Hilham; granddaughter, Amy (Phil) Hunt of Nashville; great grandchild, Aiden Haney; brothers, Edward (Missy) Buck, Willie K. (Cheryle) Buck and Paul (Diane) Buck, all of Dayton, Ohio, Mack (Cathy) Buck of Hilham, Ricky Buck and Ronnie Buck, both of Mt. Juliet; and sisters, Brenda Stacy of Gainesboro and Edna (Lloyd) Dilldine of Mt. Juliet.
Charles Ward Scott
Charles Ward Scott, 82, of the McCoinsville community passed away Dec. 1 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. John Maberry officiating. Interment followed in Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community.
He was born Feb. 9, 1937 in Jackson County. He worked as a machinist at Aeroquip-Eaton and was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Charlie Frank Scott and Maxine Kinnaird Henson; brother, James E. Scott; and daughter, Angelica Scott.
Surviving relatives include: wife, Jennie Scott of Gainesboro; son, Ronnie (Amanda) Scott of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Logan Macklin and Iris Macklin; step children, Lisa Rivera and Davenna Weathers, both of Calif.; brother, Billy Ray (Elsie) Scott of Ga.; and sister, Janet (Gary) Burton of Gainesboro.
