Recently the Town of Gainesboro was nationally recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its efforts in non-revenue water (water loss) reduction. The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) AQUARIUS Recognition Program nationally recognizes DWSRF-funded projects for exceptional focus on sustainability and protection of public health. These projects are examples of the high level of innovation possible with the DWSRF.
2019 marked the first year of this recognition program and each state nominated one (1) project for inclusion in the program. The State of Tennessee selected the Town of Gainesboro’s project for recognition because of its notability in the realm of again infrastructure replacement, innovative financing, affordability and water loss control.
