Larry R. Hix

Larry R. Hix, 65, of Whitleyville, passed away Jan. 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Duane Gossett and Bro. Shan Dozier officiating. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community.

He was born May 11, 1954 in Jackson County. He was a plumber, pipefitter and also a welder. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Dewey Hix and Mary Odell Warden Hix; sisters, Helen Louise Browning and Jeweldean Carrico; and half sister, Ovell Kinnard.

Surviving relatives include: brothers, James (Ova) Hix of Indianapolis, Ind., Charlie A. (Pat) Hix of Whitleyville, Bobby E. Hix of Gainesboro and Gary M. (Veda) Hix of Red Boiling Springs; sisters, Edna Sue Smith of Red Boiling Springs, Barbara Jean (Harding) Smith of Cookeville, Donna (Bobby) Poteet of Gainesboro and Deborah Kay (Terry) Holman of Murfreesboro; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Charlotte Diane Sublett

Charlotte Diane Sublett, 66, of Cookeville, passed way Jan. 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chosen cremation. There are no services planned at this time.

She was born Sept. 20, 1953 in Jackson County. She worked in home health care.

She was preceded in death by: mother, Christene Wiley.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Robert B. Sublett of Gainesboro and Richard Sublett of St. Claire Shores, Mich.; daughter, Sara Diane Sublett of Shelby Township, Mich.; grandchildren, Joshua, Robert, Joseph, Caitlin, Brandon, Gabrielle, Rylan and Skylee; great grandchildren, Ava and Aiden; father, R.B. Wiley of Cookeville; brothers, Jackie Wiley and Glen Wiley, both of Warren, Mich. and Ralph (Donna) Wiley of Jackson County; and sisters, Nancy (Dewey) Pippin of Jackson County and Sandra Wiley of Warren, Mich.

Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Leroy “Lee” Clinard

Vernon Leroy “Lee” Clinard, 74, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 5 at his residence. Memorial services were held Jan. 9 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Aug. 12, 1945 in Davidson County. He worked as a roofer.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Lawrence Hugo Clinard and Hazel Harris Clinard; brothers, Dacre “Larry” Clinard, David Clinard, Gordon Clinard and Lodoff Clinard; and sisters, Janice Kopp and Barbara Myatt.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Mae Clinard of Gainesboro; sons, Chris (Sherry) Clinard of Cookeville and Seth (Dana) Clinard of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Krista (C.J.) Cross, Brittany (Nick) Rush, Grace Clinard, Drew Clinard, Gavin Clinard and Willow Clinard; great grandchildren, Kaylee Cross and Sawyer Cross; brother, Terry (Mattie) Clinard; sisters, JoAnn Vanderpool and Linda (Harold) Mosier; and his dog, Athena, better known as “Ugly”.

Donald Robert

Moss, Sr.

Donald Robert Moss, Sr., 74, of Lafayette, passed away Jan. 3 at his residence. The family has chosen cremation. No services are planned at this time.

He was born Nov. 12, 1945 in Davidson County. He worked in commercial construction and was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by: parents, John R. Moss and Lora Harper Moss; brothers, Gene Moss and Johnny Moss; and sisters, Faye, Margaret and an infant sister.

Surviving relatives include: son, Donald Robert Moss, Jr. of Gainesboro; daughter, Donna (Robert) Manier of Gainesboro; and sisters, Katherine, Betty, Yvonne and Linda Gail.

JoAnn Condit

JoAnn Condit, 72, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 4 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at a later date.

She was born Nov. 17, 1947 in Sussex, NJ. She was a waitress and a member of the Burristown Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Albert “Bill” Vealey and Etta Vealey; husband; Douglas E. Condit; and brother, Thomas Vealey.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Michael Klecha of Spring Hill, Fla. and Christopher Klecha of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandchildren, Steven Klecha, Noah Klecha, Garrett Klecha and Kaylee Klecha-Sofranek, all of Spring Hill, Fla.; brothers, Rev. Albert Vealey, Jr. of Quincy, Fla. and Rick Vealey of Gainesboro; and sisters, Judy Bogert of Melbourne, Fla. and Sherri Elston of Cromwell, Conn.

Jackie “Butch” Coffee

Jackie “Butch” Coffee, 75, of Elmwood, Tenn., passed away Jan. 1 at Smith County Health and Rehab Center in Carthage. Graveside services were held Jan. 13 at the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. There was no visitation or services at the funeral home.

He was a brick mason by trade and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Noah Whitaker Coffee and Rubie Hamlet Coffee; and brother, Robert L. Coffee.

Survivors include several cousins and many friends.
