Braxton “B.D.” Meadows
Braxton “B.D.” Meadows, 84, of Bloomington Springs, passed away Feb. 14 at NHC Health Care in Cookeville. Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. John Mabery officiating. Interment followed in the Young Cemetery in the Center Grove community.
He was born Oct. 15, 1935 in Gainesboro. He was a hardware store owner, brick mason and he served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Mark Meadows and Lottie Rhoten Meadows; and brother Ogle C. Meadows.
Surviving relatives include: wife, A.V. Meadows of Bloomington Springs; son, Paul (Judy) Meadows of Bloomington Springs; grandsons, Travis Meadows of Bloomington Springs and Shawn (Beth) Meadows of Murfreesboro; a future great-grandbaby; and sister-in-law, Carol Meadows of Algood.
James A. Johnson
James A. Johnson, 73, of Gainesboro, passed away Feb. 19 at his residence. Graveside services will be held March 7 at the McCurry Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. The family has chosen cremation.
He was born Sept. 21, 1946 in Detroit, Mich. He was a factory worker and attended the Spring Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Aaron P. “Buck” Johnson and Irene Vickers Meadows; wife, Wilma Johnson; and brother, Gary Johnson.
Surviving relatives include: daughters, Sandy (David) Stafford, Shawn Edna (Anthony) Durham and Misty (Robert) Chaffin, all of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Victoria (Dustin) Head, James Pitman, Wilson Durham, Lilly Chaffin, Emma Chaffin, Bella Chaffin and CeCe Chaffin; great-grandchild, David Reed Head; and brother Bob Johnson of Gainesboro.
