Richard Roland Sharp

Richard Roland Sharp, 55, of Gainesboro, passed away Feb. 23 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born June 4, 1964 in Kittery, Maine. He was a factory worker, a member of the Morrison Creek Church of Christ and he also served in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by: parents, William Thomas Sharp and Doris Hicks Sharp.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Wanda Carol Sullivan Sharp of Gainesboro; son, Tony Sullivan of Gainesboro; daughter, Tiffany Bremer of Ohio; brothers, Carl Sharp of Akron, Ohio, Bill Sharp of Ocala, Fla. and Paul Sharp of Lafayette; sister, Laurie Manuel of Las Vegas, Nev.; and grandchildren, Hayden Sullivan, Hailey Bremer and Mickie Bremer.

Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harriette Ann Sheppard

Harriette Ann Sheppard, 78, of Birmingham, Mich., passed away Feb. 17. Services were held Feb. 29 at the Henderson B. Gentry Cemetery in Gainesboro with Bro. Dan Huffines officiating.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Bill Sheppard; sons Matthew (Sonia) Sheppard and Michael (Maria Williams) Sheppard; grandson, Davis Sheppard; sisters, Glenda (Terry) Parks and Anita (Dave Worrell) Gentry; niece, Tara Parks; and nephew, Thomas (Crystal) Parks.

Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Farmer Boyd

Evelyn Farmer Boyd, 87, of Ashland City, passed away Feb. 23, at her daughter’s home. Funeral services were held March 1 at Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City. Interment followed in the Cheatham Memorial Gardens in Pleasant View with Bro. Ray Notgrass officiating.

She was born March 13, 1932 in Robertson County. She worked as a seamstress and was a member of the Ashland City Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, Hassel Farmer and Lorene Elliott Farmer: husband, Charles Leland Boyd; brother, Joel Farmer; sister, Nannie Lou Farmer Adcock; twin sister, Catherine Bell Farmer; great-granddaughter Melody Hope Notgrass and great-grandson, Avery John Notgrass.

Surviving relatives include: son, Stephen (Betsy) Boyd of Clarksville; daughter, Charlene (Ray) Notgrass of Gainesboro; sister, Lavon (Billy) Farmer Sanders of Ashland City; grandchildren, John (Audra) Notgrass, Bethany (Gregory) Poore, Mary Evelyn (Nate) McCurdy and Ashley (Michael) Russo; and great-grandchildren, Clara McCurdy, Henry Notgrass, Eva Poore, Wesley McCurdy, Toby Notgrass, Maria Poore, Peter McCurdy and Thomas McCurdy.

Clara Jean Bean Way

Clara Jean Bean Way, 86, of Bloomington Springs, passed away Feb. 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Feb. 29 at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Interment followed in the Union Hill-Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Hwy.

She was born April 9, 1933 in Jackson County. She worked at Wilson’s Sporting Goods where she was a seamstress and was the owner of Way’s Custom Shop. She was a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Edgbert Bean and Cora Belle Putty Bean; first husband, Litton C. Way; husband of 45 years, Jim “Von” Way; brother, Truman Bean; sisters, Pauline Brown, Anna Jackson, Lillian Phillips, Marie Eckel and Francis Buckner and niece, Joyce Hanaway.

Surviving relatives include: Joy (Gary) Fox of Bloomington Springs and Anita (Danny) Nichols of Cookeville; stepsons, Kim (Sandra) Way of Cookeville, Kerry (Gethyn) Way of Munising, Mich. and Kevin (Lisa) Way of Midland, Mich.; step daughter, Brenda (Fred) Bratumil of Novi, Mich.; grandchildren, Bryann, Heather, Rachel, Daniel, Jamie, Heidi, Rebecca, Molly, Kyle, Trent, Ambre, Katie and Amy; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Frizzell and Estelle (Paul) Pippin, all of Cookeville; brother-in- law: Coy Buckner; nieces, Pat Damron of Ohio and Regina Buckner of Monterey; and nephews, Patrick and Phillip Pippin, both of Cookeville.

Myrl Key

Myrl Key, 71, of the Rickman community of Overton Co., passed away Feb. 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. The family have chosen cremation, with memorial services at a later date.

He was born June 14, 1948 in Overton County. He was a factory worker.

He was preceded in death by: parents, E.M. Dishman and Bessie Key and brother, Clint Dishman.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Mark Key of Rickman and Michael Key of Livingston; daughters, Valerie Patton of Jackson and Jennifer Reed of the Hardy’s Chapel Community of Overton Co.; sister, Vella Haney of Gainesboro; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Brenda Key and Richard Friesner.
