Disturbance Call Leads To Arrest

On June 9, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a disturbance call on Robert Smith Lane. Shortly before Deputy Wade Draper arrived on the scene, it was reported that the suspect had a firearm and was threatening people at the scene.

Deputy Draper approached the scene and witnessed the suspect kneeling behind a truck. Deputy Draper ordered the suspect to the ground. The suspect refused commands and became physically aggressive when Deputy Draper attempted to detain the suspect. Deputy Draper was able to take the suspect in custody after a physical confrontation. Several on duty and off duty deputies responded to scene.
