Kevin Stafford

Kevin Stafford, 43, formerly of Gainesboro, passed away July 2 in Brunswick, Ga. Graveside services were held July 10 at the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community with Bro. Randy Heady officiating.

He was born Oct. 15, 1976 in Gainesboro. He was a factory worker.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Lily Mae Stafford.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Katelyn Loftis; father, Troy R. Stafford of Gainesboro; and brother, Danny R. Stafford of Texas.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bruce Marlin Yazzie

Bruce Marlin Yazzie, 54, of Hendersonville, passed away July 2 at his residence. Funeral services were held July 6 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Carr officiating. Interment followed in the Denson Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 9, 1966 in New Mexico. He owned a cleaning service and was a member of the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Robert H. Yazzie and Carrie A. Hensley Yazzie; and niece, Zoe Johnson.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Regina Leigh Hussey Yazzie of Hendersonville; sons, Blake (Marie) Yazzie of Orange, Calif. and Nick (Shelby) Yazzie of Gallatin; daughter, Victoria (James) Brandt of Clermont, Fla.; grandchildren, Jayden Yazzie, Ava Yazzie and Haiden Yazzie; and several aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

James Earl Goolsby

James Earl Goolsby, 71, of the Old Antioch community, passed away July 3 at his residence. Funeral services were held July 6 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Hembree officiating. Interment followed in the Stacy Cemetery in the Old Antioch community.

He was born March 31, 1949 in Jackson County. He worked in fiberglass boat repair.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Bill Goolsby and Willie B. Stacy Goolsby; son, Frankie Goolsby; and brother Tommy Goolsby.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Barbara Sue Goolsby of Gainesboro; son, Steven Goolsby of Gainesboro; daughter, April (Jason) Spivey of Gainesboro; brothers, Jr. (Debbie) Goolsby of Gainesboro and Charles (Glenda) Goolsby of Gallatin; sisters, Betty (Paul) Perry of Gainesboro and Evelyn (Don) Dickens of Gallatin; grandchildren, Whitney Goolsby and fiancé, Ryan Murphy, Alyssa Spivey and boyfriend, Lucas Boles, Frankie Mabry, A J Spivey and Asialyn Goolsby; and great-grandchild, Liam Boles.

Larry “Preacher” Hopkins, Sr.

Larry “Preacher” Hopkins, Sr., 61, of Baxter, passed away July 6 at his residence. Funeral services were held July 11 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Mainord officiating. Interment followed in the Allentown Cemetery in the New Salem community. Pallbearers were Kyle Bybee, Joel Blair, Donnie Maxwell, Ronnie Kinnaird, Jason Schopieray and Timmy Young.

He was born April 17, 1959 in Jackson County. He was a truck driver and a member of the OOIDA Group.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Marion Thomas Hopkins and Betty Jean Welch Hopkins; and son Jarrett Hopkins; and Daisy.

Surviving relatives include: son, Larry Hopkins, Jr. of Baxter; friend, Helen; brother, Robert (Pat) Hopkins of Cookeville; sisters, Joann (Danny) Garrison and Gail (Gerald) Meadows, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Dawson Thomas Hopkins, Thomas Hopkins, Logan Jones and Jackson Jones; and special family, Rita Barlow and Alesia Bybee.

Bobby Joe Stafford

Bobby Joe Stafford, 77, of the Fairview community, passed away July 6 at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. Funeral services were held July 12 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Stafford Family Cemetery in the Fairview community.

He was born June 21, 1943 in Jackson County. He was a retired machinist and a member of the Woodmen of the World Jackson County Chapter. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Grover Cleveland Stafford and Lella Frances Scott Stafford; sister, Polly Scott; brothers-in-law, Bobby Jones and Luke Scott; and half-brother, Harlen Stafford.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Joanna Stafford of Allons and Frances Bishop and husband, Kevin of Oneida; brother, James Bruce Stafford and wife, Jo Ann of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Edna Jones of Gainesboro and Marian Jones and husband, Vernon of Hermitage; grandchildren, Joseph Stafford, Levi Bishop and William Bishop; and former wife, Naeomia Stafford.
