The second suspect in a home invasion is in custody.
On June 20 there was a home invasion in the Bloomington Springs area of Jackson County. Sheriff Marty Hinson and his staff responded to a call of two individuals entering the home and holding family members at gunpoint while they stole property from the residence. A citizen in the neighborhood confronted the individuals as they were loading stolen firearms. The citizen was armed and fired at the individuals, who took off running into nearby woods. Sheriff Hinson called in K-9 units from Cookeville Police, as well as Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter and troopers. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office also sent deputies to assist in the search. Deputies, officers and troopers stayed on the trail until they took one individual into custody that was hiding in an old structure. The individual is a juvenile. Both suspects were wearing coverings over their faces and were in a vehicle reported stolen out of Memphis.
