The Jackson County Board of Education passed an amended version of the 2020-2021 School Reopening Plan on Thursday night.
The school year will begin in person and on time, with a virtual option. Registration day will be Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Students with last names beginning A through L will phase in on Aug. 5 and students with last names beginning with M through Z on Aug. 7. All students should report to school on Monday, Aug.10. Temperature checks will be required upon arrival to school and visitors to the building will be limited.
Changes to the plan include requiring employees to wear a face covering when in areas where social distancing is not feasible. Face coverings or face shields will be recommended for students. The most up-to- date health department guidelines for schools will continue to be followed.
