A robbery suspect was apprehended within hours of a crime.
Deputy Roy Shepherd responded to a residence in the Celina Highway area of Jackson County after an elderly person called 911 to report a robbery. The suspect entered the home in the early morning hours by removing a door glass in the basement. He then pried open the interior door to the main residence.
Once inside he searched the residence for items to take and found a 22-caliber rifle. He then took the rifle into the bedroom of the homes owner where he forced the elderly person into a bathroom. He then tied the person’s hands and feet with rope. He took the victim’s wallet and barricaded the door to the bathroom.
