Ernest “Pappy” Fields, Jr.
Ernest “Pappy” Fields, Jr., 71, of Buffalo Valley, passed away Oct. 6 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Oct. 9 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in the Flatt and Woolbright Cemetery in Gainesboro.
He was the owner of E & S Market in Baxter for many years. He enjoyed life as a farmer and always liked to go riding, looking at deer. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Buffalo Valley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by: wife, Shirley Williams; paternal grandparents, Benton and Maddie Fields; maternal grandparents, Ed and Sina Flatt Stout and Carrie Grogan Stout; parents, Houston and Pirley Fields; brother, Harold Fields; and sister, Roise Jean Smith.
Surviving relatives include: sister, Sue Mayberry of Buffalo Valley; brothers, Bro. Bennie (Vicki) Fields, Charles (Deborah) Fields and Lewis (Reba) Fields, all of Chestnut Mound; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Crest Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
