Early voting began Wednesday Oct. 14 for the November election and Jackson County election officials are continuing to encourage voters to take advantage of it.
“We strongly encourage people to early vote,” said Elections Administrator Clay Thaxton. “It’s a real easy way of doing it. You don’t have to worry about what the weather is going to be like or the lines are going to be like on Election Day.”
So far, the election office has received 1,931 voters, both in-person and absentee. According to Thaxton, the office is expecting many more to vote before early voting is over.
